Hi,

This question has been already asked many time. The problem now is I am personaly involved. I gonna be Daddy...
So....where my sweet lovely girl will open eyes for the first time?.

Private or public?. The difference here is only money. I can afford, thanks to God, private but I don't want also waste money for this if I can avoid.

I am westerner, yes but a worker, not a senior executive or whatever, driving my Cayenne and sleeping in a luxury flat. I am simply here to save some cash for the future of my family.

If anybody as a recent experience, thanks to give me some advice.

By the way, is it correct the price for delivery is about 10.000 QR in a private clinic for 3 days?.
And if it's a private, is there one really safer than the others?.

Thanks for any advice.

I delivered at Al Alhi almost 2 years ago. The service at the Hospital es very good but never, never in your life allow your wife to deliver with Dr. Ritzvi she is not a good Doctor, my C-section was so bad and my son when into NICU, she never came to visit me, she only approached 1 day before i was discharged and the excuse she gave about the reason why my baby was there was such a big lie. If you want your wife to go there, find first a good doctor (and by the way she will never allow you to get into the theater......) Cost around 26,000 QAR - C-sec, lot of money without any complication, because it can considerable increase.

The only way you can decide is to go and visit them your self and choose which one suits you.

I delivered my first child at Al Ahli and my second is due December and again I'm going back to Al Ahli as I was so impressed the first time.

Yes it's about QR10,000 for the delivery, 2 nights stay, private suite, meals/snacks for you and your wife, all the blood tests, intial innocluations, eye test, 2 hearing tests and 2 follow up appointments. We chose them because the Dad can be there for delivery and he can stay at the hospital for the duration that mum and baby are in too.

I think with all the visitors we had in 2 days we drank QR10,000 worth of tea and coffee so was worth the money!!!!

Ask to have a look around the facilities and have a talk to someone about all their proceedures. You might find that you prefer Hamad (although you won't be allowed to be at the birth).

I think one of the deciding factors in most people's choice is whether the father can be there or not. As far as I'm aware Al Ahli is the only hospital that allows it.
