Electricity Bills

Having just moved to Doha from Dubai I just recieved my first electricity bill of over 500QR for a month on a 4 bed family villa.

This is significantly more than I would pay in Dubai for the same.

Is this normal for a 4 bed villa in Doha?

Yip thats still cheap, 2 months ago i payed 670QR and the last month it jumped up to just less than tripple of the previous month. I was very supprised but it has been really hot and humid recently. I also have a 4 bed villa central AC.

for a 4 bed villa, that is extremely cheap.

for a 3 bed flat, we pay  Qr.350.00 average and occassionly double or get credit in our elec account, that is when the guys at kahramaa have actually checked your meters (elec & water)

Normally elec & water bills are high in summer because of the a/c and water consumption

Yes, it is normal, I am paying more than that in a similar villa. It depends as well on the no. of ACs; and if you have a dryer, it might reach QAR 1000 so easily...

check your meter reading in Kahramaa. sometimes it is not correct and they are making the adjustment on the next month's bill.
