This weekend is buzzing with events all around Qatar. From the much-anticipated Ajyal Film Festival to the Boat Show, this weekend has got it all.
We have assembled a list of events happening this weekend for you to explore.

1. Ajyal Film Festival 2020
Dates: November 18-23, 2020

The first-ever hybrid edition of the 8th Ajyal Film Festival, presented by the Doha Film Institute (DFI), will feature an inspiring selection of 80 films from 46 countries representing timeless tales of community and determination, highlighting the innocence of youth and an enduring optimism through cinema.
The six-day event, held from November 18- 23 in an adapted format, celebrates the essence of Ajyal and its commitment to community and youth development, with most activities, offered online. Pushing the limits of creativity and paving new paths, Ajyal 2020 will feature an innovative mix of virtual and in-person film screenings, interactive discussions, and the first-ever drive-in cinema in Lusail as part of a multisensory experience for all ages.
In line with government guidelines and with the health of all Ajyal participants as the top priority, DFI continues to work closely with Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the Crisis Committee to deliver a safe Festival experience with a balance of virtual and in-person elements.
2. Qatar International Boat Show 2020
Dates: November 16-20
Where: Porto Arabia, The Pearl- Qatar
Time: 2:30 pm to 9:30 pm
In some exciting news for boat enthusiasts in the country, the seventh edition of the Qatar International Boat Show (QAWARIB 2020) has kicked-off at Porto Arabia, The Pearl-Qatar.
One of the largest events of its kind exhibitions in the Middle East, QAWARIB 2020 is being held under the patronage of Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of State of Qatar HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.
The event has been organized by Al Mannai Plus Events since 2013.
This year’s exhibition brings together a total of 33 companies, mostly local companies in addition to 158 international brands with local dealers.
Additionally, the event showcases some of the world’s finest yachts and marine equipment.
Visitors can also see luxury boats that have been made of high quality and refined skill. The venue in The Pearl-Qatar offers the perfect spot for visitors to enjoy the international boat show.
3. FIBA 3x3 Basketball 2020
Dates: November 20-21, 2020
Where: Al Gharafa Beach Games Area
Time: 3:10 pm onwards
Entry: Entry is free for all

The FIBA 3x3 basketball action is all set to take place this weekend at Al Gharafa Beach Games Area from 3:10 pm onwards.

4. ‘Outbreak’ Art Exhibition
Dates: November 19 to December 10, 2020
Where: Sikkat Wadi Msheireb, Msheireb Downtown
Time: Saturday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
The exhibition will feature inspiring works of art from 24 local talents, the selected artworks reflect the new reality of our world as it faces a period of instability and uncertainty, and pays tribute to the brave frontline workers and modern-day heroes who sacrifice their lives daily for our safety.
Participating artists include Ali Al-Mannai, Ibrahim Al-Baker, AJ Al-Thani, Shouq Al-Manaa, Hamad Al-Fayhani, Noor Al-Nasr, Mohammed Al-Suwaidi, Saad Al-Muslamani, Roda Al-Thani, Bothayna Al-Zaman, Anfal Al-Kandari, Maryam Al-Homaid, Mohammed Al-Hammadi, Marsya Abdulghani, Elie Fahed, Abdulaziz Yousef, Maryam Al-Suwaidi, Adriane De Souza, Paul Valentine, Sharefa Al-Mannai, Reem Al-Haddad, Maha Al-Subaey, Nasser Al-Kubaisi, and Ghada Al-Khater.
5. “Healthcare Heroes” exhibition
Dates: Until the end of 2020
Where: Doha Fire Station’s arts complex
A photographic exhibition celebrating Qatar’s healthcare workforce and their efforts during the current pandemic has opened in the courtyard of Doha’s Fire Station arts complex.
The “Healthcare Heroes” exhibition will run until the end of the year.
The exhibition launched to coincide with the biennial WISH Summit for Health, which will take place virtually from November 15-19, 2020, features individuals who between them represent the many different faces of healthcare in Qatar.
