This weekend in Qatar is filled with exciting events. From fashion to art exhibitions, this weekend has got it all.

We have assembled a list of events happening this weekend for you to explore.

Make sure to take all necessary precautions outlined by MoPH such as wearing protective masks, downloading the Ehteraz application, and maintaining social distancing while you are outside.

1. 17th edition of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition

Weekend in Qatar

Dates: November 27 to December 1, 2020

Location: Doha Exhibition Convention Center (DECC)

With participation from various local brands, the exhibition will offer visitors an array of unique collections, from high-street apparel, haute couture, and luxury, to the latest modest evening gowns. It will also feature a rich program of events including four fashion shows, ten talk shows, and one workshop taking place on the sidelines of the event.

This year’s edition sheds light on Qatar’s home-grown talent and will showcase over 150 exhibitors including local designers and entrepreneurs along with two Kuwaiti designers Tahani Alotabi and Basayel Style. The returning local brands include Almotahajiba, Harlienz, Hamadis, 1309 studios, and Terzi, among others.

Heya is open for women only; except on the opening day (27 November), during which men can accompany family members. Children below the age of 13 are not permitted to enter the exhibition.

All visitors will be required to register in advance to manage visitor traffic easily. Those who have registered will receive a QR code that will be required upon arrival and is valid throughout the five days of the exhibition.

2. The International Handicrafts & Traditional Productions Cultural Market

Dates: November 4, 2020, to February 4, 2021

Where: Building 48, Katara Cultural Village

Time: 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm

For those who have missed being outdoors and experiencing the unique cultural experiences offered at such events, a new exhibition at Katara Cultural Village may be worth a visit.

The First Edition of the International Handicrafts & Traditional Productions Cultural Market is taking place from November 4, 2020, to February 4, 2020.

3. ‘Outbreak’ Art Exhibition

Dates: November 19 to December 10, 2020

Where: Sikkat Wadi Msheireb, Msheireb Downtown

Time: Saturday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm

The exhibition features inspiring works of art from 24 local talents, the selected artworks reflect the new reality of our world as it faces a period of instability and uncertainty, and pays tribute to the brave frontline workers and modern-day heroes who sacrifice their lives daily for our safety.

Participating artists include Ali Al-Mannai, Ibrahim Al-Baker, AJ Al-Thani, Shouq Al-Manaa, Hamad Al-Fayhani, Noor Al-Nasr, Mohammed Al-Suwaidi, Saad Al-Muslamani, Roda Al-Thani, Bothayna Al-Zaman, Anfal Al-Kandari, Maryam Al-Homaid, Mohammed Al-Hammadi, Marsya Abdulghani, Elie Fahed, Abdulaziz Yousef, Maryam Al-Suwaidi, Adriane De Souza, Paul Valentine, Sharefa Al-Mannai, Reem Al-Haddad, Maha Al-Subaey, Nasser Al-Kubaisi, and Ghada Al-Khater.

4. “The Republic of Color” exhibition

Dates: Until November 30, 2020

Where: Building 47, Gallery 1, Katara Cultural Village

Time: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm

Entry: Entry is free for all

“The Republic of Color” exhibition features 25 masterpieces of Dominican paintings. The exhibition is integrated by a selection of 25 works produced by 25 artists, provides an insight into an insular reality rich in nuances and contents, both individual and collective versions of the Dominican Republic.

5. “Healthcare Heroes” exhibition

Dates: Until the end of 2020

Where: Doha Fire Station’s arts complex

A photographic exhibition celebrating Qatar’s healthcare workforce and their efforts during the current pandemic has opened in the courtyard of Doha’s Fire Station arts complex.

The “Healthcare Heroes” exhibition will run until the end of the year.

Those chosen to take part in the exhibition are members of teams at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), and the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).

Across the exhibition, thirteen men and women are depicted, both masked, as they would be at work, and unmasked, as they would be when at home.
