Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and need some help in regards to finding a good Nursery and Kindergarden for my 3 year old son. I will be arriving Doha by next month and will be applying for Residency visa of my wife and my son and they may reach Doha by August if everything goes according to plan.

I need to find a good nursery or kindergarden for my 3 year old son and not sure where should i get him admitted and secondly will i be too late to apply for a place in the September session.

Can someone please guide me through and let me know what are my available options and if someone knows what will be the fees these nurseries or kindergarden charge.

Thanks for your help in advance
Regards,

Bloody 'ell CESK must have gone downhill since my little one was there then!!! I thought it was excellent! British curriculum and if you are thinking about primary in Doha College it seemed to be a tad helpful if they went to this nursery.

I'm not sure what they story is about changing rooms but I've never seen such a thing when my daughter was there!

There are alot worse Nursery's out there, which pay far less to there teacher and assistants and they work longer hours with NO break.

QR2000 per month is alot of Money, CESK pay by term.

The best thing you can do is go to the Nursery's yourself and take a look around. Decide for yourself as not every nursery is up to the Standards for some people. Not everything you read is the truth.

If you are open minded and want an good education for your child, I DON’T RECOMMEND CESK NURSERY AT ALL!!!

The frontin is British but its politics is the most closed Qatari.

Children don’t have an assigned room so Cesk don’t give them a sense of belonging. Children can not to identify with a space in Cesk, they go wandering and each hour are changing of room.

The teachers and assistants are very poorly paid and the “break weeks” are deducted them but you should pay for all the days...

You don’t have right to claim anything, the most important thing is not that the child or parents are ok, the most important thing is that the child meets what Cesk have to give ... very bad policy.

My daughter and me had very bad experience in Cesk.

I recommend 100% BUSY BEES BRITISH NURSERY. My daughter 3 years old is really happy there 1 year ago. 5 days a week 2000QR per month 7am to 2:30pm.

the nursery where my wife works, but on second thought, I think she is moving to another much better one! But there are a lot of schools to choose from. One maybe good to others but it really depends on what you want for your child!

analysts - have a look at the Doha Mums Nursery guide. It doesn't list every nursery in Doha, but covers the most popular ones with expats.

your location in Doha can influence this also unless your wife will be happy spending half the day in traffic!

if you know where you will be living (Company accom) and where you work, you should also judge based on this.

In Gharaffa Area Starfish lane (1 & 2) are very good kindergartens run by an Australian lady. Near Villagio/Aspire then Apple Tree run by an Irish lady.

The good ones get full quickly - go to Doha Mums (on this site) and they have a comprehensive list.

However, my experience is that the nurseries are primarily here to serve the ladies that lunch, not the ones who actually go out to work
