You are right. But , I believe, organizers cannot be blamed for missing-kid-issue. The parents are to be blamed! They were very much involved in the festivity, and they might have forgotten about their little ones! LOL.
The mood was good there. Everyone were in high spirits. But I agree, arrangements could have been better.
And I really agree with you about organizers taking those little (but big) things into consideration, like providing water for the kids.
And, talk about lighting! (I recently moved to Doha.) I cannot understand why the Town-planners in Doha have an aversion towards light! Be it the beautiful Corniche, or Waqif souq area, or be it some roads in Najma or Mansoura area. You will end up in darkness!!
Yup, the DJ was on the mic all the time - we have a missing kid who is wearing a wonderful bright pink top, we have a kid who is wearing a fancy shirt...the only common thing was...in all scenarios the kids were scared...parents please approach the stage.
1. There was enough parking in Katara, but the entrance was bottlenecked.
2. Kites were good.
3. LED show was a flop. 3 kites with LED? Not much of a show there.
4. Lantern show was a flop as it never happened. I had confirmed that with the organizers that its gonna start at 8PM. It never happened! We waited for it for 2 hours! And almost missed Fast Five! (Thank you Mall for showing it at 11.15PM!)
5. Loads of kids went missing. There should have been more lights at the place.
6. Thirsty!!!! Where can we find water? Was there a stall for water? We ended up buying from the restaurant! (Costly!)

I prefer to spend my WE a a calm quiet beach than going to this always crowded KATARA,...!!
thanks :) i hope i fint it this tym :)
amberslan,
Katara is located just after the Doha Exhibition Center.
Hidden behind those huge mounts of sand!
Turn left after the exhibition center. Take a Uturn at the first possible location. Then turn left again, and there you are, in Katara.
I've never been to Katara................where is it actually located?
can somebody please tell me?
Bthomas,

Funny though.

hey it got over even before i reached there onn 7th... bad ... me unlucky!!
Bthomas - Loads of kids went missing?
I hope everyone went home with his/her kid by the end of it all.
I knew whats gonna happen, becasue that place cannot hold such kind of open public events due to lack of space, narrow roads etc...
This is the reason we did not go there :-)
lol Khanan...
I thought u will take the Exit door ? :(
It was a nice idea, but poorly executed.
