There may just one similarity between leasing and renting a car and that is in both cases you pay for the right to use a car owned by someone else.

However, the major difference between the two lies in the time frame of use. Leasing is usually on a longer-term basis though this can be sometimes applied to renting a car also. Renting is usually for a short-time period. You can take a car on lease through loan such as a bank loan. Usually, leasing vehicles come from dealers. Leasing typically involves ownership at the end of lease term. Some rent-a-car also allow this facility if you make a contract with them to own the vehicle at the end of the contract but this can be done when the vehicle is taken on a long -term basis, say for a period of 3 years. In the latter case, the rent-a-car company can even provide you with a brand new car. But rent-a-car companies usually make such contracts mostly with companies. You can check on this with companies here in Doha.

Taking a car on rent allows you the facility of the car being maintained by the rent-a-car company. Most rent-a-car companies carry out periodic servicing of the vehicle such as oil & filter change, checking of tyre pressure, replacement of worn-out parts etc. I am not aware if leasing companies provide such facilities and you may need to check this out from various car dealers in the city.

As for "best providers" of such services in Doha, you will need to do a bit of legwork as car-leasing and rent-a-car companies have their own different terms. There is some bit of competition in the market in both the areas. You will need to make your own judgement based on your budget.
