Marriage in Qatar

Hello Qatar Living readers. My partner and I are seriously considering getting married in Doha. We are both Christian, I have a residency permit but she will only be here on a tourist visa. I believe we are able to get married in the Catholic or Anglican churches here. Is anybody able to let me know of any special requirements we might need or anything we might have to do in advance. Any information at all is very greatly appreciated. Thank you.

there are some legal obligation related with your nationality. Each country have their own regulations about marraige and you have to fulfil them.then comes immigration of Qatar.if you have valid marraige then you should have ability to sponsor your partner.so think and then plan.

I doubt if someone here on tourist visa can get married. Its not possible atleast according to Qatar Law for Muslim Marriages. Iam almost sure, this will be an obstacle. Get confirmation on this first.

Knowing all about the requirements for marriage is a part of the plan.Wanted to get married without any knowledge of what to do ,First ask yourself , what you will do and what are the requirements here in Doha.Bringing your fiance and living with here is a big mistake in this place.Ask your embassy.

You probably won't be able to marry in the Catholic Church unless you are both Catholic, members of Holy Rosary, have never been married before and are willing to undergo several months of religious preparation as well as a few reams of paperwork. The Anglican Church would be a little less restrictive perhaps but your best bet would be to have a fun vacation in the Maldives or Cyprus and get married there.
