What's the procedure to apply/obtain the above facility for my pregnant wife who is under my sponsorship. We planned to give birth to the new baby here in Qatar only and also getting advise from friends for a good hospital for the same.
She is not employed as of now, so how easy/difficult is it to get a health card for her, which can cover the hospital charges for us.
Your inputs would certainly help.
Thnx...

To my knowledge you can use the health card in government facilities like Hamad. If you'd like to use private facilities then it's at your own expense unless you have insurance provided by your employment then you can use it towards private clinics like Ahli hospital.

Get the Hamad Health Card. But it is very Strange that your Company did not give you all Medical Insurance. This is very Bad, No one should come to a foreign Country without Medical Insurance.

You got advice for your friend to look for a good hospital.

yeah good hospitals are real scarce down here....lol

why not ask someone knowledgeable.

I am not saying "TRY"..I mean go with HMC. Get down to hmc today and apply for a health card. you need your drivers licence and ID card.

If you have money to blow. Try al-ahli hospital.

I just learned all about this. If you're working and she is under your RP then it should not be a problem, I am assuming she has RP as well, you just need to apply for a health card at the nearest Primary health center. If you have the Marhaba book the list of facilities in each area is provided.

Make sure you take with you her passport, resident permit, one passport photo and 100 riyals. The health card is issued same day (at least in my case).
