Medical Services without Health Card
By AussiePaki •
Hi all. Me and my wife are coming to Qatar by February 2011 for work. I have following queries regarding health system in Qatar:
1) How long does it take to get us both resident permits in Qatar?
2) Can we get health card without getting resident permit?
3) What if I or my wife need to see a doctor or go to a hospital while we are waiting to get health card?
4) If it is possible to go to a doctor or hospital (for example, Hamad Hospital) before getting a health card, then how much it will cost?
I am asking all these questions because my wife is pregnant, and she may need to visit a doctor or hospital once we reach there. Thanks in anticipation.
Thanks Mamaliga. So it means that I or my wife can go to clinic / hospital for treatment if required before we acquire health card. How much money will that cost us?hopefully around QR 250 per consultation at maximum? Cheers
1. One week maximum, according to the company you will work with.
2. No.
3. & 4. Once you will get a resident permit, ID or working visa, you can register at Hamad Hospital for only 100 QR, actually your company should do that, but if you want to fasten the things, you can anytime go to a private hospital or clinic, and the registration fee is maximum 250 qatari riyals, including first consultation.
Hope i was helpfull.
