most Karwa Taxi drivers are always ripping off their customers

I'm not sure if it is just us, but we are taking taxi everyday to and from work, and if we will base on the meter it never go more than QR 10.00, but most of the time ( like 8 out of 10 ) drivers will always ask us to pay QR 15.00, and we always refuse, most drivers get angry, I even experienced once, he locked the door and refused to let me out unless i pay QR 15.00, he only opened the door when I said I will call the security if you don't open this.

Thursday evenings are the worst, if I want to go home from work, Karwa drivers usually ask QR 20.00 and refuses to give you a ride if you're not willing to pay what they are asking for.

I will really appreciate if you will share your experience and advice on what to do...

many thanks in advance!

my advice for you is not to pay him 15 Qr rather ask him to hire 2 or 3 more passengers and give 10 Qr each.in this way he will get 30 Qr and u will be benefited too by paying just 10 Qr.

What happened to your company's transportation benefits? is it provided by your company? Nowadays if you don't have enough mode of transportation to and from your work it is a BIG problem... It's unsafe & expensive to ride taxi everyday knowing your experiences with different taxi drivers...

There should be a minimum charge for all journeys
