Multiple Sclerosis

Hello! I will be moving to Qatar from the US in August. I have MS, which is very much under control with current medication, and I rarely have issues. I think I read that there are only a few neurologists in Qatar. Can anyone recommend someone who specializes in MS, should the need arise? (I will be coming with medication for several months and a prescription from my Georgetown University Hospital specialist for the rest of the year) Any help is appreciated!
Please don't worry about MS you would get good treatment from experienced doctors of HMC. I am diagnosed with MS from 2014 and under treatment at Qatar.

Jelena2014, I am about to move to Doha, and I have MS as well. How has it been for you? Have you been able to receive treatment, and if so, where?
Hello! I am moving to Qatar soon, so I am intersted about life there is it OK for us with MS to live in such a hot weather? And how are You doing there?
Thank you
But i didnt get your PM. Can you pls recheck
I sent you a PM. Yes, there are many medication options.
Hello Sophie...I am staying in Doha..I also had some MS symptoms like some numbness on the left part abt 6 years back. Is there any special medication other than some steroid treatments. Should we have to follow any diet or special life style..Pls for your advise
Thanks Mandi. I will talk to my neurologist about connecting with one of the Cornell faculty. Fortunately, I will have very good insurance, and the company will get the medication from the US, or more likely, Switzerland, where it is manufactured. Regarding heat, I'm fortunate that heat doesn't really affect my condition much at all. It's not as hot at Doha where I live, but it is often 100 with 95% humidity in the summer, and it's not a huge deal. Thanks for the lead on Cornell. :-)
Sophie, sorry, the mods will remove Minda's remarks in a little while. He/she is obviously selling some sort of snake oil. There are a couple neurologists here in Doha associated with WCMC-Q (Weill Cornell Medical College Qatar) however, I do not believe any of them specialize in MS. Their research seems to be focused on epilepsy and although they have privileges at Hamad, I'm not too sure of their clinical availability there. Your best bet would be to have your Georgetown MD refer you to a Cornell faculty member here in Qatar. I do know that a couple of my friends with MS in the Gulf have had some issues with the heat. Are you able to compensate for that? Also, you need to find out if your prescription meds are available here. Many meds carried in the US are just not available in Qatar. Their pharmaceutical formulary is extremely limited in breadth.
Mandi
