New born Birth certificate process - 2013

Hi All,
Just been through the process and wanted others to benefit so that you are prepared:
There are two scenarios:
1. Baby born in HMC (skip to step 3)
2. Baby born in other hospitals

1. Get the application form and other relevant documents (baby's details, passport copy of self and mother, typed application form) from the hospital (Ahli in my case)
2. Go to HMC main hospital (OPD)near the parking building: Proceed to Male Registration Counter (even if your baby is female). This is located near the cashier. Provide all the forms and baby will be given the HMC registration number which will be written by hand at the back of your application form
3. Go to Hamad Women's Hospital: As soon as you enter, turn right and there is a room for Birth Registration. Enter the room, provide the application form and pay QAR 20 per copy. Arabic copy is not being issued (that's what i was told)
4. Collect the acknowledgement receipt, and the date of collection will be notified by the lady at the counter (she is very helpful by the way)

Earlier posts refer to going to 3rd Floor of Women's hospital, but i was guided in this direction. As you know, the process keeps changing and this is what i went through in Feb 2013. Good luck!
