Hi,

This is a longshot!!!! We have looked at a villa out near Villagio. There are 20 villas in the compound, they are brand new, move in date 1st April. The compound doesnt have a name yet! We love the villa but we are concerned that the compound is quite small. My priority is to have play mates for our 1 year old. I dont suppose anyone reading this knows the villas Im talking about? Or better still, knows them and is moving in...and has a one year old!!!! lol. Anyone know of any villas available in the Villagio area in larger compounds??? Anyone got any advice for me, whats it like living on a small compound? Are bigger ones better?? help!

hi there

we are in a compound which is not far from villagio and the Aspire.Cedars compound is just 2 roads down from   Al Furusia Petrol station  which is by racecourse roundabout.  The compound is made up of 26 villas, basketball court, swimming pool, clubhouse(empty!!) and gym.The villas are large, 4 bedrooms, 3 of them with ensuites plus guest room/maids room at the top of the villa with ensuite.the villas also have a large seperate kitchen and open plan living area and dining area.

There are lots of kids in our compound, about 18 kids aged between 4 months and 9.The compound is a perfect size, the kids can ride there bikes around the compound and know they can not get in to too much trouble.Everybody knows everybody but it's big enough that your not each other faces too much. there is a real cultural mix...NZ,OZ,SA, Malaysian, welsh,Scottish,British,Lebonese,Filipino,South American...to name a few.

i think there are 4 villas that will soon be avilable for rent. Nicole is the agent, Her number 5913718. The rent is QR 15,500 a month, fixed for 3 years.

By the way, we have the most perfect front steps for enjoying a glass of wine or beer and a friendly chat.

Good luck with finding a home

Thanks guys for your replies. I hadn't thought of the benefits of there being less cars, much safer for kiddies playing out on the street.

Lacey, thank you for your post. I have heard about this couple you talk about and you are right about the wife! I've heard they are so tight with their money they havent even bought a map of doha!

:)

In response to your question - we have just moved into a compound near Villagio, which is also near Al Sadd stadium and just behind the American School. The place is new and does not have a name yet - apart from the sign which says Villas to Rent on the outside.

Yes the place is small, we have a 5 year old daughter who has Special needs but we are just as concerned about cars and safety and this one seems to do the trick - we would like to see more families on as my little one loves to have kiddies around.

The other good thing is that the Rugby club is just round the corner which is ideal for kids and I guess walking distance - well it is now not sure what it will be like when it gets hotter....hope this helps.

We are going to move to Beverly Hills Garden 4, a compound close to the other Bev Hills gardens (1,2,3) and also to Villaggio, Aspire etc.

We are a famili of 4 2 kidds, the youngest 13 months.

I know a couple who have a 6 month old child (super super CUTE !) who MAY possibly move to the compound you are talking of down the track if they can't get the villa they have their name on a waiting list for..

They are a LOVELY couple, funny, down to earth, love a good drink and a BBQ etc etc

You just have to watch out for the wife... she tends to only ever have 3 riyal on her at a time.... you may end up paying for her lunch from time to time :P

If you want their number I can arrange it for you just PM me

Personally, I would prefer a small compound.  Less cars and to worry while kids are at work...........
