Hii everyone, I'm new in Qatar and would be grateful if people help me. I need to send my daughter to school this year and I need to choose school not very expensive. The girl is 10 years and she is from Russia, she has basic English. What school will be able to take her? Thanks.

Newton International School. SOME said it's cheap!

Or better yet, wait for an international promotion from some British and American Schools to have discounted fees, hope QCAA will not barred it! Lol! Joke!

The original poster asked about schools that were "not very expensive". Although one hears excellent things about the facilities at ASD, wouldn't it be true to say that it is also one of the most expensive schools in Doha? While we are on the subject of what is and what is not "expensive", I would just like to say that we need some kind of clarification as to what is and what is not cheap, reasonably priced and "expensive". Perhaps most QL readers probably agree that a school charging less than 6000QR per term is cheap, around 9000QR would be "reasonably priced", while a school that charges about 12000QR per term is "expensive".

Minoush, the British curriculum and the American curriculum are not the same. For example, students at an American curriculum school will probably learn about American History and how to play baseball, while students at a British curriculum school will learn British History and how to play cricket. Furthermore, a school may have a very good curriculum, but have an awful "size, amenities and the waiting list". These things are not the same as a curriculum. It is also quite possible for a school to have some very good facilities and some very lazy and incompetent teachers. You do not seem to have said anything about the teachers at ASD, Minoush, so perhaps you do not think that a school's teachers are important in any way. Maybe you think that the curriculum is the only thing that matters, even though you do not seem to know what is meant by this word.

I almost fell out of my chair when you wrote that the British curriculum is better than American... On what basis??

ASD is considered the top school in Doha. Just check out the size, amenities, and the waiting list...

Dear Oxana, Here in Qatar you may find a variety of schools with different prices and also different education values.

My advice to you is to choose a moderate one in price with a british curriculum as they offer better education than the American curriculum.

Try Doha Academy school, my kids are there and i see this school just fine.

you may contact me if you need any further assistance.
