Nursery opinon

Hello to everyone :)
I am brand new here in Doha and I will appreciate if you help me finding a good nursery for my 1year&7months son Adrian.
I am curious about Central English Speaking Kindergarden /CESK/ and do you know is it in connection with Doha English Speaking School?
If somebody has experince with some other nursery - good or bad, please share with us.
Do you know how long before the starting date I should apply for the nursery?
Also I read that here there are a lot of groups with moms like me and I'd really like to join you someday. May be when I get a driving licence here:)

Thank you very much for the help!
M.

I register my daughter (26 months old) in a new french nursery named Perles d'avenir. And she love the environment, the team and the activities !

They do garden, water play, creativity, ... to much various thing and i really love it ! And more, it's totally safe and healthy !

I'm so happy to finally find THE nursery in doha, after visiting so many !

I give you the phone 44817611 or visit their website www.perlesdavenirqatar.com you could find more details.

Good luck for your choice !

See you.

Pink and Blue Nursery opened its doors to children ages 2months to 4 years last December 2009, Since then we have been providing children with the love and care as a family would. We use the montessori methods in teaching and we develop your child as a whole, " children learn through play" that is one of the concepts we believe in. All the children who graduated from our nursery are now in the best preschools in Qatar like Al maha academy and Hubs English School just to name a few. Visit and Like our Facebook page and see what we have been up to. Thanks!

hello ,im a mother of two .My daughter went to RISING STAR kinder garten old airport.we put her there last year in march when she was 2yr and 2 months and we were expecting our next baby.I had heard about all big ,well known nurseries in doha but couldn't get a chance to see them. luckily this one turned out to be the best for us.let me tell you there are very few nurseries which provide transport and rising star is one of them.the van driver is accopanied by a maid who is extremely responsible in handling kids. the principle,Mrs Zainal Yasmeen is very helpful and the staff is just too good.my daughter just loves her teacher.she had 13 fellowkids in her class and 2 assistant teachers with the class teacher.each child gets sufficient attention.my duaghter has learned alot and we believe that rising star is one big reason that she qualified the admission test of DOHA MONTESSORI AND BRITISH SCHOOL.

I had experience there the nursery is looking good but inside there is to much problem. As a mom I don't want to my sons go in there specially the indian leader who work in butterfly class to put time out 2years old kids in sleeping room(dark room )NO!I strongly recomend you to find another good nursery

I found that Little Angels nursery is very bad, the head of the place is a very arrogant lady.

It seems they are spoiled, since there aren't many options here in Doha.

My daughter (2years) goes to First Steps nursery, they don't seem to be listed anywhere but they were recomended and it is great! My daughter has come on so much since being there. They are extremely flexible for working parents and do not have the ridiculous long holidays that other nurseries have here.It is in the Al Nasr area not far from Toys R Us. They are also reasonably priced. I wanted my daughter to mix with other cultures and learn this at a young age so was loathe to send her to an all english speaking childrens nursery. They do communicate in English though and the teaching appears to be fantastic!

Good luck!

After reading your post I tried calling Life Time but no one is picking up. Could you please provide another number and also let me know if any waiting period is involved.

If you can suggest any other nursery/playschool that will just help me to choose.

for ballet you can take your girl to International Music School (eventhough in my opinion she is too small).

gymnasium you can take her to aspire ... Gisella run a chidren gym class there. Here the copy of the paragraph i got from Mums The Word newsletter:

Registration for the Mother and Toddler classes has now begun for the next academic year. It takes place daily at Aspire Academy, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. These classes are for Mother & Toddler (1 – 3 years), Children Only (4 – 5 years) and (6 – 7 years). These classes are based on the idea of “exercise and play”, they run 4 days a week in the afternoons at Aspire Academy, with highly qualified staff, supervised by Mrs. Gisela Hackfort. Mothers and fathers have their share too. Fitness classes for both are available, with Martial Arts and Yoga course, running daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m in the evening. Registration and Timetables available at the reception area in Aspire, or on the website www.aspire.qa – under ASPIRE ACTIVE. For more info. please call Myrna on 413 6219…

I visited over 10 nurseries in Doha when we first arrived. The best I found was Little Angels. My son has been going there since October and he is sooo happy. The care is great, very clean, bright and spacious and the education is great. The facility they have is like no other and the teachers are so friendly. We are really enjoying their summer camp too. I strongly recommend it to any mother..

Most nurseries have a cut off age of 4 so your kids may have to both go to regular school. Get a copy of Marhaba (Welcome) book available at Carrefour and most book stores and all the phone numbers are in there. Waiting list are extremely long though.

It seems that Busy bee will be close to our new appartment. Is it a good one? Also Sunbeam and CESK is quite ok, but I didn't spoke to them yet.

Elder tree nursery will be far from home :)

Starfish Land Kids is English speaking but they have all types of kids there. It's run by two Australian ladies (Maria and Kimberley). 12 months is the youngest they take and it's up to age 4. My daughter is 3 and there are about 20 kids in her class with 1 teacher and 3 assistants. The younger kids have less kids per class. It is over near Landmark Mall. 5805830/5103

Busy Bees is near the American School right off of Al Waab. Raina - this is very near Al Sadd football stadium. Nadene runs Busy Bees.

We had both our kids enrolled at CESK when it still hadn't moved to its new location. No complaints, recommended. They are now located across the road from Doha College.

No idea about affiliations.

If you want your kids in any nursery at all you have got to get on the lists right now. CESK has an interview process as well as a waiting list. I don't know if it's affiliated with DESS. I heard Busy Bees has a few openings lately so it maybe worth a call. My daughter goes to Starfish Lane Kids and I love it. Good luck. :)
