I had the impression that Park House was one of the better schools in Doha, but some rather negative things about the school have recently been posted on QL.

To be fair to Park House, I would say that many international schools have problems when it somes to recruiting and retaining teaching staff. Another (and virtually insoluble) problem for many schools is that different parents often want different (or contradictory) things.

remember correctly, Parkhouse school uniforms have to be purchased via the school. Very very expensive and very poor quality.

It might also be worth taking a look at the school fees and the EXTRAS. You might also try to work out how long it will take you to get your child to school and back twice a day through the Doha traffic.

My friend works there and sends both her kids there. They are all happy. She likes the school. Worth taking a look at.

Agree with previous post - go to the school and take a look. I wouldn't trust opinions that are second hand or from the kids - all kids hate school! lol

My experience has been a good one. Refreshing after a v bad school experience here in Qatar.

As I know, next year classes in British/American Curriculum Schools will start in September 2008 and in other schools, the classes will start in April 2008. So, first you need to find out whether a mid-term admission is available or not then only you can decide which school to select.

I think it is a personal choice and at the present it is good if the kids can find a place in a school here.

The curriculum in many schools may not be the choice of the parents but there are certain policies that schools have to follow.

The competition in schools is hard nowadays and the school sets the standards - some kids are just not the material to be rocket scientists

My freind sent his children to it and they said it was horrible. The curriculum is not bad, but the teachers dont teach it. You should ask people who have been in it or have children in it. Personally, i nonly heard this from a freind.
