PARTIONED VILLAS ARE HAZARDOUS FOR EVERYONE

Basically, we are here working outside of our country to earn & to save! The more we save, the better we earn and the more money we can bring to our homeland.

With regards to electric shock or short circuits, or gas blasts, etc....it is the negligence that should be taken into attention not the partitioned room. Whether you're living in a partition or a palace, or a hotel, or apartment, anywhere!...accidents such these happens because of NEGLIGENCE, not on the place.

So, to you mr. Sydney, I may not know you but..in your situation, its so easy to say anything you like and think most especially when you're not into low class...but one thing: being poor is not a crime!!

landlords and agents should stop being so bloody greedy. There is enough housing stock here in Qatar (you only have to look at all the new apartment blocks which have no one in them and the new compounds again, ditto).

This place may be tax free but THEY get it back in every other way.

if its illegal then they should close all villas with partitioned villas and all staying on it will be evicted..

big question?? where would we live who has very low income?? i guess non so they will deport us..

lets just see if this high paying ass who can afford to rent a whole villa can do the labour jobs and can sustain the work demand from the labour force..

In the UAE partitioned villas are illegal and the government is rather aggressive in policing it as well. There have been too many cases of faulty wiring causing fires and killing people and unhygenic conditions. Now if a villa is found to be illegally partitioned (you can partition as long as you meet government standards of proper work) then the landlord in fined a min. of 100,000 AED and the people living there are evicted.

QLers cannot give a solution for this. The only solution is that the government should take action on those unreasonably high rent fees. You sure are stupid for saying such words. It is by choice that people with low income live in such places, and by choice, I mean those places that they can only afford. Who would want to live with so many people? Of course they dream of taking a whole villa or flat for their own if only they could afford it. Please go have your brains checked. You have a serious damage on your logic. No words can express just how much of a bimbo you are. If you are irritated seeing such accommodations, then go rent a whole compound and re-rent the villas for half the prize!

Nobody said that the government has to provide the housing for free, the expats still of course has to pay for it but at an affordable fee. It doesn't have to be fancy like the 'others' have but decent enough for one to live in.

We see lots of villas and apartments empty all along the main roads and inner streets but how can the low income workers afford to pay the fancy rents for this places which are many, many times more then the housing allowance that this workers get.

Yes, currently im staying in a partitioned villas and i have been staying like this even in Dubai too.

In no way im downgrading or critizing any one here.

MY REQUEST IS To find a solution that can help every one specially those in the lower income brackets.

I heard some guys saying that there are 50,000 plus rooms are vacant in Qatar (I could not verify the genuiness of this though!) and holding up just to keep this high value of real estate market.!

i don't see it illegal if tolerated and not sanction by the government here..

so if the OP really cares for everyone's safety, then he must address and report this to the authorities..

posting it here for me don't solve the matter but rather insults expats living in this partition villas like me.. no one wants to live in a partition villa.. even my dog way home has its own room..

even if someone suggested here the best solution i don't think it will help either.. not unless the OP was appointed by the goverment to research for solutions..

ONLY IF THE SALARIES ARE STANDARD FOR ALL PEOPLE. By then, nobody will stay in partitioned rooms.

I've been here in Qatar for almost 7 years and most of these partitioned rooms that you're talking about are mostly managed or rented our by your race.

I'm living in a villa now for 5 years and we dont do partitions. The balcony, living room, dining area and the receiving area were converted into rooms and no electrical cicuit or sockets are changed. And most, if not all of my fellow kabayans would rent out the other spare rooms to AFFORD THE STEEP RENT and SURVIVE.

From what I know, those who partioned rooms in villas like the size of a prison cell are AFTER THE MONEY without the thought of safety....and one is crazy to even do business with these scroupulous(sp)individiual.

On the other hand, the Qatar government do offer low housing but prioritizes their own or the locals. And to think there are a lot of buildings, apartments and villas that are vacant...still the rent remains sky high.

I understand u r farely rich and have been lucky enough to not had to stay in one of those kinda sharring villas.... but my friend, try to step into other's shoes and understand that even others deserve to live in this world..... even others deserve some better life.... tomorrow u will say all the ppl having income under x amt shd stay in a far off places nd not in the city.....

There is nothing wrong in staying in a partitioned villa.... everything is under the rules and regulations of qatar..... there are ppl who cant afford to rent the whole of villa.... so unless the govt gives free accomodation (which is highly unlikely) there is nothing wrong in staying like this.....

and trust me, having so many families around, who can be of gr8 help when in need, is much more enjoyable than staying in an independent villa with just trees around...

I would like to share my idea. There are two things that caused this to happen. First is the astronomical rent that many people can't afford. So people are forced to stay in one of those partitioned rooms. It is the only option for them. Second, it has become a business for some enterprising individuals. They would rent a flat, sub-divide the rooms, then rent them out. I know this for a fact because I was shown around to several flats by a single individual when I was looking for a room to stay in. It is really risky to live in those partitioned rooms. If you have seen one then you know what I am talking about. But then again, people are forced to stay there and take the risk because their housing allowance isn't enough to rent a decent flat. The solution to this is to regulate the rent. By the way, I am looking for a studio-type room to rent. I don't need a big space as long as it has a bedroom, a small kitchen, a bathroom and a separate entrance. Thanks.

One is well aware of the cost of living in Qatar. Inspite of this certain individuals wish to save some riyals by sharing

Apartments, villas etc. At risk to themselves and their families....and they want the government to provide for them......Why should they???????

Find out the reality of staying in Qatar and if you cannot afford it, either further negotiate or do not accept the offer....Qatar ain't the end of the world.

you have point, but maybe the better solution, locals will give their villa's and flats in reasonable pricess. If we will to review why there are two families in 1 flat, it is simply because they want to manage their budget to save some amount..

i agree with you, villas are totally partitioned without any proper design work, neither kaharmaa approval for electrical load, i have seen bigs villas where 6-7 families are staying, totally messed parking, unhealthy enviorment its getting horrible day by day

2nd big problem is sharing accomodation in flats, 3 bedroom flat, i have seen two to three families are staying overcrowded parking,

i think government should look into this and owners should make sure that only one family is staying in flat/villa and should check regularly or there should be a complain number so such cases should be reported

Yeah, the question of Mt Zeus, :have you been into one? Have you seen? have you heard every day accommodation burned because of electric wirings because of partitioned accommodation?

It's good for you if you can rent your own place with 5 bedrooms and stay alone, how about other people who can not? You will throw them out of Qatar because their salary can not pay like where you are staying?
