today we went there again, my wife was waiting for 2 hour to see the doctor, and the doctor said we have to get the referral letter from health center.

can someone please guide us the procedure or anything we should know? and the location of health center?

appreciate your answer. thanks in advance.

You cannot go to hamad directly to consult an doc. Initially you need to be going to a health center. You can go to any health center you want. If u have a health card you will be going to the health center closest to your residence. Otherwise if ur still on visit, feel free to go anywhere, they will charge you 30 Qar and issue u a temporary Health Card number. You need to take your passport with you if u dont have a health card. You will meet the doc and they will ask you to open a file and give u all the timings etc for file opening. You will continue all ur visits in the health center, until and unless there is a complication/emergency for which the doctors at the health center will provide you with a letter to go to hamad hospital. Without that letter from the doctors at the health center you cannot get an appointment in hamad.  I managed to get an appointment at hamad without getting the letter of recommendation as i went into emergency in womens hospital. I was admitted for 2 nights and after that they issued me an appointment card to continue my follow up visits at womens hospital. So thats how stuff works here...around 6th-7th month, you will be automaticaly transferred for all follow ups at hamad womens hospital. PM me if you need any more help/info.

hi, xedesmarie & vnraj96, thanks for your reply.

xedesmarie, they asked us to get the referral letter from health center, should we get it from health center or ob/gyne clinic?

vnraj96, im a bit confuse, referral letter first or registration first? as the women hospital receptionist did not mention about registration.

Of course it is not so easy as it is existing.  First thing u have to register urself in Hamad Hospital for the the health card which cost u QR 100.  After that they will provide the detail of the helath center (Pobably based on the location as well the capacity of the health center) that u can go for your checkup.  However anything beyond that you would be asked to go to Hamad.  (Emergecny always in Hamad)Please go and find the registration procedure in Hamad and then check with the people available there.

hi! do you have an ob/gyne doctor which is not from hamad? if you do have, you can ask from that doctor a referral letter.

did the person in emergency specify if you can get it from any health centers? if so, there is a health center opposite of Audi Showroom near Hamad Hospital Signal.

hope this can help....
