This is for all these families posting the requests for info on QL regarding where you can put your kids in school. Well according to today's Gulf Times, Qatar Academy will open a new school in Al Khor as of September. They will have pre school thru to year 4 and then will each year an additional year. Admissions are open as of today, Qatar Academy, Education City in Doha.
So for all of you living in Al Khor, here is a place where you can apply. Good luck.
It is actually International School of London, yesterday a thread with the addresses of it and the new Debakey school was posted.

Googled the London International School but it came up with nothing. Can you give any further info??? I'm another mum desperately trying to find a school for my 4 yr old and my 8 yr old.
Qatar has got to be the most difficult and frustratingplace ever to get your kids into school. Will there ever be a solution or will my family and I continued to be spilt up due to the impossible feat of finding a school!
Admission is open at Education City, Qatar Academy Al Khor Admission Office.

is approximately 1 hour traveling time from Doha. Not a real choice unless you live in Al Khor. (presently lots of kids in Al Khor travel to Doha for school as there are not as many options for school in Al Khor).
but they haven't been officially announced yet. One is the London International School (or words to that effect) following the IB curriculum, the other is some academy specialising in Math and Science out of Houston. Watch the papers.
thanks for that information. i have been trying to enroll my kids in shool, Preschool and Kindergarten but every time i email a school they are filled already ! i will be coming to qatar this summer and want to make sure that my kids will be in school by the time september comes around. i want to get in touch with this school but i do not know their email address...do you? is it the same as the website for the original qatar academy?
also is al khor far from doha? i am not in qatar, so i dont know my way around yet.

How come the lady on the phone did not mention it when i called last week?? And told me to apply jan2009 for sept 2009????? Is the news authentic??
