Qatar Law about Husband Sponsorship?!?!

Hello everyone, just want to ask if anyone of you have heard about this Husbands Sponsorship issue.
Husband and wife with different Sponsor. Wife become pregnant and child was born here in Doha February 2012. Husband will now renew his RP card but according to husband company it was postponed, because according to them, there is a new Qatar Law regarding Husband Sponsorship. Wife who just give birth starting this year (2012), must change her Sponsorship to his husband. Husband must also Sponsor her wife aside from his newly born child.
Is this true?, I just heard this issue from officemate of my husband. Am curious about this issue because my husband is also renewing his RP this October. We have same situation right now. I also gave birth last January2012. And im also under my company sponsor. The problem is 1.)my husband salary is below 10k (but almost). 2.) is I don’t know if my present company will give NOC. That’s why im asking if anyone of you just heard about this. Maybe if this is New Qatar Law maybe I can have my NOC and . am sooo Excited to have that.. Thanks in advance for your Informative inputs. God bless everyone. Have a nice day.

Hi friends,

I need your suggestion. I am working in Qatar and my wife staying here with me under my sponsor. Now I got termination letter from my company due to the project finished.my last working day 31-01-18. But in this situation my wife got pregnant. As per the advice from doctor 3months have to stay here without travel. So how can I extend my wife staying in Qatar? What about my case? I am totally confused. Please anyone suggest best advise as per Qatar law..I'm looking forward to use your advise.

Thanks..

I just had an update from a friend who was preparing to transfer her visa to her husband as per previous instruction form the immigration office. However, long before she finish the process, they were advised that the law has changed again and she does not have to transfer the visa anymore.

As for my case now, we are trying to get the visa for our new born baby. we have different sponsors. Additional requirements now are:

salary certificate for both parents

bank statement of the father ( at least 3 months)

standard requirements:

passport of baby

birth certificate of baby ( if born in doha)

passport size photo of baby

copy of attested marriage certificate ( attested by embassy)

copy of parents PP and RP ( bring the original of all the documents just in case they want to verify)

Tomorrow will be our 3rd time to try applying for the visa, and everytime they are asking for additional requirement. Hopefully they will process it.

after a long process of our visa..it took more than 5mos of waiting, processing, coming and going to Immigration for us to finished my visa...on Feb. 18, 2013 I got my RP stamped and under my husband sponsorship. Now, we can go to Philippines right away...were supposed to go for vacation last Dec. but bcoz of this new law we re-schedule our flight.

we spend QR2000 for the changing of sponsorship from company to husband plus baby renewal of visa QR400.

Thanks God! Finally, i got my visa and all also for my baby visa renewed.

any updates regarding this issue,,

My wife gave birth here in Qatar last July 2010, and she's not under my sponsorship.

Is there any changes in the Qatar Law? and can anyone tell me if its true?

We are new to Doha. My husband got his RP, my son and I still on extended visa. When I go to interviews, they ask me to be on thier sponsorship so if this is the rule why r companies giving me the option...

ddo you know what are the requirements? does the husband salary will not matter to sponsor both baby and wife to get the visa of baby and for husband's RP be renewed?

By PoPCorn• 3 Jan 2013 11:49

it's true po...visa for the baby no problem but once the father renew his RP they will ask about the sponsorship of the wife...it should be transferred to her husband else it will be on-hold.

i would like to ask what are the documents required for transferring company's sponsorship to husband visa? and what are the procedures needed (e.g. what form to fill up/ submit, where to submit, etc.).

Thanks in advance.

Best of Luck to your application.

yes this is true...same like us...i was under my company sponsorship and my company told me to transfer my sponsorship to my husband. My recent company gave me an NOC this month of October and my papers/docs submitted to Immigration is still under review. Were still waiting for the result til next week. I delivered my baby last April 2012 and they said that this is the law now..the baby and wife should be under husband/father sponsorship.

both of us are preggy. she will give birth on january 2013 and me on february 2013. both under company sponsor.

hope this is true and we can avail this new law before it changes. my husband needs to renew his RP on march 2013 which is 1 month after my delivery...

i shall track this thread for new updates.

@ slh10252000, nobody will take care of you once you become an old tiger. So better discard those condoms and make your own baby now.

I already heard about this according to my husband's officemate because his wife will deliver the baby on December and same problem as mine, I will give birth on January. That is why we are worried but almost of our firends and as my survey goes, this is not true. The hunsband can sponsor the baby regardless of his salary and profession. If this is true, immigration should announce this on newspaper or websites to inform all people otherwise this will make trouble and confusion for all married couples here in Qatar who wants to live and build thier family here.
