Million dollar question: Have you reported to Police?

My experience is that, if you don't drive and don't spend long time on road, Qatar is a safe place.

WHY there are so many angry men who like to change lane inside a roundabout? comparing with this, stealing is not a big issue when we talk about SAFE.

when i entered this country i heared that its very very safe country to live even if you leave your bags and valuables no one will touch.but atlast i became a victim.of course my bag was not diplayed in car.it was kept in a side, along with other bags, can see unless someone will take a keen watch

Much safer than the UK! But still there is an element of risk. I am sorry for the damage and loss you have suffered, I know how frustrating that can be having endured it myself several times in the UK for car stereos. But leaving a bag in full view could be too tempting to someone who is desperate.

Very safe, except the roads.

The more people that come in on loww incomes, the more crimes will be committed.

A safe country will not defend against your own stupidity

With the amount of laborers working here for degrading salaries, it's normal to have few small petty thefts. Deportation awaits who is cought. Thats why theft cases will always be relatively small to any other country.

But Qatar is SAFE...yes it is. no killings...stabbings...

It is a safe country but that doesn't mean you should be foolish enough to leave your handbag in plain view. No one said it is 100% crime free. It sucks you ended up a victim of a crime but you could have easily prevented it had you had your bag with you than sitting in your car. And if your handbag was a louis Vuitton or some other high end designer...Then i really don't feel sorry for you. Cause that's just plain old STUPID!

Didn't hear this type of incidents, never faced but the main reason as stated by baldrick is if you leave a valuable thing visible in the car, even these youngsters can also break the glass and take it.

Then you should not have left your handbag in plain view for a thief to see. Sorry.
