Hi there all.....well it looks like we are on our way to Qatar at the end of the year....Just a couple of questions.to ask

1 i understand that the only English schools for 16-18 are in Doha is that correct??

2 How do the kids get to school if you should live North of Doha in one of the compounds Al Khor or Ras Laffan??

3 are there school buses?? or Car pools with mums sharing the drive?? or is it up to the individuals to get their kids to school??

4 is there still a chronic shortage of spaces???

Any info would be a great help......Thanks...

I know the following about the school my kids go to:

Some companies arrange buses for kids living outside Doha. Like dohagirl that's something you should check with your company. Otherwise you'll have to make the drive yourself ot pool.

There's a very long waiting list so if you haven't already done so get in touch with the schools asap.

Your best bet would be to ask the company that you are working for, sometimes they supply bus transport from the compounds, or you can contact the school and they might beable to arrange something. Really you won't know till you get on the ground here, especially since I don't think any of us live outside Doha.

As for chronic shortages at the school. It really depends on their test results at the school they apply for.
