Somewhere to live

Went to view a 2 bed apartment near Jaidah flyover, opposite the Home Centre. It was on for QR7,500 per month.

What a shocker! it was a complete tip for that kind of money. You can get a decent two bed apartment in New Jersey, USA for that kind of money.

I am so depressed I feel like packing up and going home!

I had the same issue 7 months ago. Infact the family and I were going back home, it got that bad. Someone on here helped me out, ( kind of!!) It wont get any better thats for sure. Dispite what is written in the press. Rental prices might level off but they wont drop.

Im adamant i wont go through it again. When this contract ends, its the same or were definately off. I cant afford to go any higher.

Speaking off bad experiences. One Villa we viewed still had several bags of human excrement sitting in the kitchen. The smell was horrendous. 15,000QR for a derilict Villa and a kitchen full of s##t.

As tempting as it sounds we had to say no!!!!!! Its still empty now if anyones interested. LOL

you would have just LOVED one place I saw. It was practically moving along the street by itself, it was crawling with baby cockroaches. Apparently the place had just had a visit from pest control and this is why the roaches had all come out of the woodwork.

Oh yeah? There were, honestly, DOZENS swarming about under foot in each room !! LMAO

I spent most of last week trawling Doha for a new apartment - saw some hell holes too!

I DID see some new apartments in Muntaza going for QR7,500 (2 bed). They were quite nice and in a good area; the only problem I had with them was the lay-out of them - it was a bit odd (alcove to what I assumed was meant to be the living room had an en suite bathroom!)

Anyway, they were clean and bright. The agent was A-One Trading & Contracting. The two agents I dealt with were very nice and helpful - the phone numbers of their main office are 4410851 - 4425769.

Another agent (Welsh lady) I spoke to was Janet Parry of Direct Real Estate - Tel: 4421475. She showed me some 2 beds near the Gulf Cinema in Najma. I forget the rental - may have been QR8,000. Nice lady and, again, very nice to deal with.

Oh and Adam Real Estate on 4366930. My husband's office rent a couple of places from this company and it was through them that I eventually found the place we are moving to.

Good luck!

I think all the above have websites.

Anyway, you may already know these agents, but may be not :D

you say "You can get a decent two bed apartment in New Jersey, USA for that kind of money."..? You can get a decent DETACHED HOUSE in Toronto, Canada for that kind of money!

But btw, you better take it, as in couple of months it will be QR 8500!

welcome to Qatar!
