Will there be any impact on Qatar if something bad happens between Iran and US. Will Iran target Qatar as Qatar has provided base for US.

Well. with Iran testing-fires long range missiles on Gulf and their constant threatening to stop the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz if it became the target of an oil embargo over its nuclear ambitions and their bloody interfernce in both Iraq and Syira. i AhamdiNajad is digging his own grave.

I'm hoping that everything will turn to normal on this year.. It's been long time since this tension started.

we need changes on this time to improve our lives.

Iran won't have many chances to launch anything worth while, so I'm sure they won't waste anything on the city of Doha. If they lob anything into Qatar, they would be trying their best to hit the U.S. base. Their military is pathetic, they can't even keep from hitting each other in the air everytime they have an air show. They just don't have enough military might to close the Straight long enough to cause any real economic concern, Iran knows this, they aren't stupid, they have a bad case of little man syndrome.

drsam - countries like israel will self destruct from within like other such countries like Pakistan, North Korea, Cuba etc and I dont see any need to waste bombs and missiles to target them. Just a few days back the religious guys in Israel were spitting and harrasing a little girl going to school so just imagine what the future holds for them

It's all blustering and posturing. Iran will definitely try and block the straights of Hormuz, but can't really see it attacking UAE or Qatar. There are too many Shiites in the region and it would be counter productive.

Well with all this talk of trouble, war and bombings this places dont sound safe at all and I am suprised beyond words how all this big rating agencies like Moodys, Fitch and Standard & Poor have been giving this countries in the Gulf sky high ratings like AAA+

iran can't nuke israel: the balistic missile will take hours to reach israel, and is too big to be unnoticed. it will be easily intercepted. the damage will come from the small rockets that will be fired from lebanon toward israel (not of a big impact, but it is a deterent force).

iran missiles can logically taget the close range countries like the gulf brodering states. in retaliation, much of iran infrastructure will be attacked. from bridge, road, electricity, airports...

iran will loose, but it won't go down without a fight. the question is: THE US WILL NOT THROW BOMBS FOR FREE. someone must pay the bill. otherwise, it's status quo.

is there an evacuation plan for the expat in case of full regional war? what if supply lines are broken? no more food/water/medecine supply are able to reach us by air/sea or land? the governement has its reserves but it will sustain its national citizen first. with no phone, internet, electricity, it will be a desaster for expat evacualtion; specially those from developping countries.

we are living in an artificially sustained life in the middle of a desert. we as expat will be the first to suffer the most.

If Iran nukes Israel, they will probably kill majority of the Palestinians and Hezbollah. Then if they target Qatar, the US allies will join the fight against Iran. Nobody has tested to see how far nuclear travels with the jet stream and water. I think it's all HOG SH*T!

Aren't majority of Qatari's originally from Iran? Just look and ask around. Qatari's have a mixture of Saudi, Indian, non-gulf, GCC, and Iranian blood. This is what happens when your able to marry 4. The football team get's larger and the connections are still tied to the root or origin.

The sooner the better.

They are too irresponsible to own a nuclear weapon.

Ahkamdinajad is a nut.

I will add: no cell phone coverage and internet, and thus no QL. :)

Some people think war is just another option to get the economy back on track. As we know, the business of selling weapons is very lucrative. - not saying I agree -

Nothing will happen.. this is just tension, which will never lead to war

hurmuz blocking is temporary, and gulf losses also.

the danger is the bombing of infrastructure (damaging power plants so no electricity, no AC, no water desalinisation,...)

PP, Exactly just now US has Warned Iran not to Block Strait of Hormuz.

Gulf Oil would be blocked, with major Losses to Oil Rich Countries...

If USA attacks Iran, then its all Hell for sure!!!

Iran has Israel for sure in his sight, and you never know Iran might give a Surprise, but if American's are Sensible enough they cannot afford to attack Iran.

Of course there will be. If Iran decide to block the Strait of Hormuz, Qatar won't be able to sell any LNG to anyone.

Not to mention the presence of a massive US military base makes Qatar a very likely target for Iranian bombing.

Iran is already angry at Qatar for sending troops to attack the Shia protesters in Bahrain.

I think most of the Gulf States would be targeted. There's no love lost between the GCC and Iran.
