Is there many things for families to do together in qatar?

Hi - my partner is due to start work in qatar where we will be living with our 2 children 5 and 7 year old. Will this be a good move for our family. All and any info would really be much appreciated. Even small things such as, sky tv - do we have? Food good? Places for us to visit as family, things to do. I wouldnt be able to work, worried I might get bored, homesick, while kids at school and partner out working... is there things I could be doing?

Hello,

Based from my current exp in doha i would like to share with you. i had come to doha 5 yrs before without having any knowledge of qatar lifestyle which my family had paid for it.

This is one of the most boring places for familes of your not socializing person or introvert, for kids there are parks here in places like corniche but it lacks the charm, food sucks if you eat once here your taste will go away for ever. my wife had stress problems due to loniless in simple language it is jail with a good pay.

so while coming here think 100 times from your heart if you love your kids and want them to grow as education system in doha is worst even a village kid in india is more smarter then kids from here. The climate is worst most of the year it is dead hot due to which you cannot go out and during cold seasons you will be like an ice cube .A/C is on 24 hrs due which you would have problem of back ache, stiffness etc etc. Medical systems is the most worst in the planet , they just have fancy hospital but lack the efficiency of good doctors.

So even if you have to come here for money sake just make target of how many you want to stay and then go back which iam doing now as iam leaving doha soon

You haven't said anything about the salary offered to your partner so it's bit difficult to give you a brief idea..

As far as living in QATAR is concerned, it all depends on everyone's choice and liking..No two people's taste would be similar to each other..

I do get SKY NEWS on our satellite dish called as PEHLA..I don't have any idea what the westerners are using it here..

You will get all type of restuarants here..So don't worry about that..

You can visit malls, zoo, corniche or resort on the weekends..

You can join some groups on QL..Like DOHA MUMS, PETS & ANIMALS etc etc..Below is the link for detail..You can join the membership of any groups as per your liking...
