Celebrate the first weekend of the year with family and friends! To help you decide what to attend, we have put together a list of events taking place across Qatar this weekend.

Get the best of this weekend at the following events:

1. Metro Street Food

Dates: January 1- April 30, 2020

Where: DECC Metro Station

Time: Weekdays from 12:30 pm to 11:00 pm and during weekends from 2:00 pm to 12:00 am

Entry: Entry is free for all

Craving some street food? Then head down to DECC Metro Station and try out street food from around the world. This is the first outdoor event happening in the heart of West Bay, organized by QSports.

The Metro Street Food features 20 food kiosks, 4 food carts, and a mini-golf course for children.

2. Marmi Festival 2020

Dates: January 1- February 1, 2020

Where: Sabkhat Marmi – Mesaieed (Sealine)

Time: 6:00 am to 12:45 pm

Entry: Entry is free for all

3. Mahaseel Festival

Dates: December 23, 2019- January 4, 2020

Where: Katara Cultural Village

Time: 9:00 am to 9:00 pm

Entry: Entry is free for all

The Mahaseel Festival, which lets local farmers directly sell their farm produce to people, is making a comeback soon.

The popular festival, aimed at supporting and promoting the agricultural and livestock sectors in Qatar, has been a massive hit in the past.

The market is set to feature Qatari farms selling various types of fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants and local companies offering food products related to livestock, in addition to natural honey and the best varieties of local dates produced by Qatari farms.

Around 22 local farms, flower nurseries and six national companies for dairies and meat products will be participating in the Festival this year.

The festival will also offer several entertainment and awareness activities for children and adults to enhance their experience.

4. Spring Festival

Dates: December 21, 2019, to January 4, 2020

Where: Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakrah

Time: 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Entry: Entry is free for all

The festival features some entertainment activities for families, including circus shows, parades, minds, and skills games.

Visitors can also witness wild animals like lion and tiger at the circus shows.

There will also be traditional performances from different parts of the world, which is one of the highlights of this year's Spring Festival.

If you are looking for some adventure, you can visit Souq Al Wakra to experience water sports including kayaking and boating. Children will also get to enjoy water sports including inflatable rides along with other activities such as horse, camel, and pony rides.

5. Al Bedaa Shopping Fair

Dates: December 26, 2019, to January 4, 2020

Where: Katara Hall, Katara Cultural Village

Entry: Entry is free for all

Looking for unique household décor items? If yes, then this is the place to be. From classy home décor items to a wide range of make-up products, Al Bedaa Shopping Fair has got it all under one roof.

You will find a selection of fragrances and oud from different countries. You also find some exotic bridal attires all the way from India at a very reasonable price.

6. Winter Fest

Dates: December 19, 2019, to January 10, 2020

Where: Hyatt Plaza

Time: 5:30 pm, 7:00 pm, and to 9:00 pm

Entry: Entry is free for all

Enjoy international talent live shows at Hyatt Plaza’s Winter Fest with the whole family.
