I hope you must have got the extension for your wife of about 3 months. As this is very important for your wife that you take care of her in these days of pregnancy. You can get some comfortable resources for wife from http://www.fertilemind.com.au/ ,so that she is comfortable in her pregnancy journey.

as per new rule visa can be extended for one more month maximum after 6 months. Once you exit no need to wait for 3 months to re apply and they can come back any time

Please check with the airlines also as from what I know, some airlines do not accept passengers after the seventh month of pregnancy. Yes, the captain is available at the immigration office.

Dont expect till Jan last. After 6 months completed, you can go to Captain and request him for 1 month more. I have heard that sometimes he has given 2 months more also, depends on who you are. Then she has travel out of country after this period
