Hi Friends

I am from south india. I am planning to move with my family to Doha. My family is a vegetarian family.

I request your help to arrive at a list of items like households such as mixie, grinder and clothes etc to bring from India, to facilitate cost saving measures.

Thanks & Regards

family ( wife n infant) would be moving to doha in october 2010. we are still debating if we need to bring along the steel aluminium utensils like idli maker, dosa chetti, mixer grinder, masalas or wud it be foolish to pay the courier charges ( rs 225 / kg) to send it across .

is it advisable that we get all south indian kitchen items in doha itself or it makes money sense to carry along as anyway we have all this back in india

Also is wakra a good place for indian families to stay - hear rentals of 1bhk in wakra are reasonable or shud we try for doha city only - my office is in wakra

thank you - any comments serious and jest welcome !

with all due respect to Mr. Arun0 and his no time for all of this crap. you can check QL Classified for House/Rent, Car for sale, Etc.. etc...

Instead of waiting for answers from the members, you can go directly to the Classified Sections. otherwise, GOOGLE it. LMAO!

Thank you all. Kindly excuse me. I do have very good humour. However, i am running short of time, hence to the point.

1) Which is the best CBSE school in Doha and in which place in Doha it exists? For example, Mansoura.

2) What is the rent for an unfurnished 2 bedroom apartment near to the best CBSE school so that child doesn't travel much. Here the assumption is air-conditioning and wardrobes are provided for an unfurnished apartment. If not, is it called as semi-furnished apartment. If so, what is the rent for semi-furnished apartment).

3. I hold only an Indian four wheeler driving license. What is the procedure to take a licence? Is it convertible?

4) For QR 35,000 - Which is the best 2nd car model to buy to use for the next 3 years?

Your suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Arun0....newkidontheblock......reminded me

Most of the fast food here are all Non-Veg....

Most of the Indian food here is Chicken-This or Mutton-that.

There are very few Pure Veg Hotels unlike back home.

Also for QR 3,000 rent you may have to share a kitchen with a Non-Veg family!

Ukeng, i know what Vegetarian mean. :p it's just weird to say something "My Family is Vegetarian" and im moving to Doha. This is not a Vegetarian Country nor India, UAE, Saudi. Just keep it to themselves about this matter.

Thanks.

1) How much a kg of raw rice and boiled rice cost approx. in Doha?

2) Also heard that sunflower oil and other cooking oil are very costly in terms of QR. I am not converting to INR and comparing.

Slightly deviating from the topic.

3) My son is studying in II Std in D.A.V. CBSE school in Chennai (one of the very good schools in Chennai). Which is the best CBSE school in Doha.

4) Also, Is there any south indian carnatic vocal classes & keyboard classes conducted in Doha. This is for my son.

5)I will be joining QP. Hence, is there any club tied-up with QP to provide Swimming, gym for self, karate classes etc for children

Appreciate your feedback.

Thanks & Regards

I think yu dont have to bring groceries since there are plenty of items from India here. So u get things for your kitchen quite easily.

Since you have the mixer, blender, bread-maker etc just bring them. Those things are also available here but maybe not to your liking and you can already cut cost.

Hi Friends

I request you all to provide constructive feedback. I am eligible for QR 1,045/- towards freight. I would like to utilise this option. Hence if you know, pls provide what are the items suggested to bring from India. I hope that most of the people who moved to Doha from India with the family would have prepared a list of items for freight.

Thanks
