I just read on web : http://www.best-home-remedies.com/herbal_medicine/vegetables/fenugreek.htm

Diabetes :- Fenugreek seeds have been found highly effective in the treatment of diabetes. According to a recent report brought out by the Indian Council of Medical Research, as quoted by Press Trust of India on January 6, 1988, fenugreek seeds, when given in varying doses of 25 grams to 100 grams-daily, diminish reactive hyperglycaemia in diabetic patients. Levels of glucose, serum cholesterol and tryglycerides were also significantly reduced in the diabetes patients when the seeds were consumed, the report said Quoting researchers at the National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, the report said that the effect of taking fenugreek seeds could be quite dramatic, when consumed with 1200-1400 calories diet per day, which is usually recommended for diabetic patients.

Limit the amount of food that you eat. Also instead of 3 heavy meals per day you add another 2 meals in between to balance your food intake. Example: Breakfast at 7AM, Lunch at 12NN, and Dinner at 8PM. You add snacks at 10AM and 4PM, eat a small frequent meals. Eat more on High Fiber foods like fruits & vegestables in allowed amounts and less in Carbohydrates ex. foods containing sugar & rice, bread, corn potatoes etc. Limit also your fat intake. See a Dietitian for proper guidelines in food portioning and other concern. My mother is also a diabetic and my wife is a Dietitian so I have this basic knowledge.

Take appointment of dietician in any clinic, and try to get their recommendations. Coz, I may need further details of the existing diabetic suger level both in fasting and after meal, also how long the problem exist with you, and your nationality that helps to provide you the meal appropriate your food style etc. is vital information., In addition to that, are you type 1 diabetic or type 2., and do you take any medicines and how long ? and what other problem do you have if any in addition to diabetc disorder all that factor also I need to know about it.

I do recommend you to go for always with salads, and high fiber content foods, and repetation of food intake in 5 times in stead of three meals moderate level.

lemon juice can be taken. and leban drink etc. is harmless. Diabetic is a honourable desease, if not respected, this ailment will make havoc in the life therefore, try to honour your exisiting sickness with medicine, food intake and exercise so that you may go healthy for a long time without complication.

I think the best person to answer this is a doctor/medical personnel. Because simply there are more than one type of diabetes (1, 2 and maybe type 3). Also depends on the blood sugar level, age, other medical conditions.
