I an an American in Doha with my family for the next few years. I brought my male and female Shih-Tzu dogs with me and we just had a litter of 5 beautiful puppies on Aug. 11th. They will be ready for their new homes around October 10th. They will have their first shots and be dewormed at that time. Shih-Tzu's are a small breed of dog and make the most wonderful companions. You can request photos of them now and I will forward, but they will be much cuter in the weeks to come. The parents are on site and are registered with the American Pet Registry in the US.If you are interested, please call me at 451-7357 or email me at [email protected].
Something else to consider about QAWS...before we release the dog/cat to the new owner, it will be spayed or neutered, so that it won't contribute to the population of the already over populated pet problem here. They will have received their first shots, if they are old enough, and will have been cared for properly while at the shelter.
Florencia, you need not buy a puppy for a pet. jasminejasmine and scarlett is right. Why don't you contact Scarlett as there are pups waiting and wanting of a home...
Florencia...please, PLEASE do not buy a pet from one of the pet stores here in Doha. There are so many dogs that are in need of homes and love at QAWS!! Most of them are just waiting for someone like you to come take them to a "forever" home where they can live out the rest of their life with humans who won't hit them, who will feed them well and most of all, give them the love and attention they so richly deserve. So, please, come out to QAWS and fall in love with one or two of our puppies/dogs. Visit the website...its qaws.org...take a look for yourself, then come out and meet them...
Hi, I resuced a lovely Saluki puppy about a week ago and he is doing so well. I think I was the first human contact he has had and he follows me everywhere I go. I have had him vaccinated, and treated and he is looking for a home.
You can call me on 5424030 if you would like to meet MoJo. He is a male puppy around 5 months old and he will make a lovely companion. He is great with my 2 year old and my other dogs and cats.
And I am not just being mean in my answer, I work in a vets here and I see a lot of dogs being put to sleep because they have become aggressive because their owners haven't trained them properly when they were pups. PLEASE don't get a dog unless you are prepared to talk to them in THEIR language and train them properly. There is no excuse in Qatar, if you call QatarPets they will give you the number of a fantastic trainer. She can turn things around, but only if YOU are prepared to follow through her instructions. Nobody can train your dog but you at the end of the day. You can never buy a perfect dog. JJ
Please do not consider buying a puppy or dog in this country. Qatar pets have a excess number of pups and dogs looking for homes and you don't have to buy them, just pay for vaccinations etc. They will have thoroughly vetted the dog for health and behavioural problems and will offer ongoing support. if you buy a puppy from the pet shops here it will be very likely to be sick and will have possibly be have taken away from it's mother very early and then been mistreated. Many of these dogs go on to have serious disorders and can not be homed with children. if you want a happy, well adjusted family dog, go to Qatar Pets and then join the dog training group.
If you are looking for a designer dog, a dog that makes you look good, I suggest you buy a handbag.
Good luck in your search, I hope you find a friend FOR LIFE. JJ
