Why are sports clubs here RACIST?

Especially for football, they don't accept expats is their academy.

I agree with Marco.

Everything in Qatar is based on nationality--rights, salaries, treatment, access, etc., etc. If this is how one defines racism, then everything here is racist.

So does anyone know clubs that are not sponsored by the government?

I know one Indian boy, who was selected by a club to play football , if u have extra ordinary talent, sure..you will be selected. preference always for nationals, that's quite natural.

Here expatriate schools are not giving admissions to all their nationals, bcz they can't accommodate all, it depends on the availability of seats. the same way the clubs can't accommodate all who wish to play... so they will select extra ordinary talented people even though they are expatriates. so don't blame....

Government sponsored clubs only accept Qataris and expats born in Qatar.

There are other clubs who are not sponsored by the government, who will accept anyone as a member.

Not racism .. its called Qatarization

but anyway.. who said they don't accept expatriate players in football or any other team..Sebastian Soria doesn't sound like a qatari/arab name to me

Not sure of the motive of your post but just because you were not allowed membership/entry does not mean they are racist - see BritExpat's post.

Anyway, if you feel that about a club/society - do you want to be part of that? Go somewhere else.

I had the same experience, you are not welcome although it may not be the policy , probably due to language barrier among kids .

You must have gone to the wrong sports club then.

Probably happened to you this, but I did not notice that, but I think that those who do this are the foreigners themselves and not the people of the country

Is it because the academies are sponsored and the money is directed towards developing local talent..
