Jewellery and Art collaborations for a cause at 18th DJWE
Visitors to this year's DJWE will be astonished to witness how local and internationally famous jewellers and artists have kindly donated their time and talent to assist the mission of Education Above All (EAA). Look out for the special display of jewellery and art pieces at the entrance foyer of the exhibition to admire – and purchase – one of these unique pieces:
Chopard
The internationally recognized French brand is displaying eight pieces, with earnings benefiting EAA's programs. The set comprises four iconic Happy Diamond watches, three bangles specially made for EAA as well as a pair of unique earrings.
Isolation is the Mother of Invention masks
Three sculptures from the Isolation is the Mother of Invention series are on sale at the 18th DJWE, following their debut at a benefit exhibition in Los Angeles and New York late last year. The sculptures, which include works by Jeff Koons and other renowned artists, are an artist's take on the ubiquitous face mask of recent years and visualize the fantastical, melancholic, and uncanny moment in which we have found ourselves in.
Jewellery pieces inspired by Qatar’s natural heritage
Local artists will also contribute exceptional pieces to the cause. Girnas by Mariam Al Khalaf is a QAR 26,500 white gold necklace encrusted with rubies and diamonds. The design of the artwork is based on the falcon, which is a symbol of dignity and contains various connotations and traits associated with the Qatari people, including magnanimity, courage, strength, and pride. Noof Al Meer's Pride will also be on display. The piece is priced at QAR 15,000 and is made up of white and yellow 18k gold earrings with yellow sapphires and white diamonds. The earrings are shaped like an Arabian horse, which is known for its elegant silhouette and is widely recognized throughout the region as a symbol of chivalry, pride, and nobility.
