Blame iPad for US unemployment

It is one blame Apple CEO Steve Jobs would have not thought that he will ever face. US Representative Jesse Jackson Jr has blamed Apple and Steve Jobs for US unemployment crisis. He claimed that iPad is responsible for killing thousands of American jobs.

Jackson claims that the iPad is to blame because it enables anyone to easily download books and newspapers. Thus everyone who works at bookstores, or the publishing industry will lose their jobs to workers making iPads in China.

He said, "Why do you need to go to Barnes & Noble? Buy an iPad and download your newspaper, download your book, download your magazine." Jackson reportedly went on to talk about Chicago State University's plans to create a "textbookless" campus by giving incoming freshman students iPads.

Incidentally, Jackson himself is an iPad owner.

Case of Double standards or what!!!

Exactly! New technology also brings new jobs. Of course, one has to be educated for them. That's the real reason why many 'lose' their job.

When Computers were latter introduced in Indian Govt. offices there were anti computerization campaign by various trade unions, and was told off as being anti progress,"countries".

Now that this is happening in the West, may be the trade unions' concern will get it's due:(
