The Dumbest thing in the earth

By SBR

Yesterday, I was fortunate (rather I say, unfortunate??!!) to witness something I would recommend for the "Dumbest thing on earth" award.
On the busy evening, around 6:30PM, two cops came in there is stylish, hi-tech motor cycle and parked in the center of the crazy signal and blocked the traffic completely. I thought there might be some VIP visit and they are there to close the road. Instead, those 2 James Bond look alikes, started going to each car that got struck in the traffic, checking for violations and issuing ticket.
Man, I just can't beleive my eyes..They kept doing so for nearly 30 minutes, blocking the traffic all over the area. People, looking for alternate routes, clogged the nearby roads and you can imagine what a mess it was.
These as.h.les, having no sense or care the least for what other peoples problem are, do qualify for the "most insensitive living being" award also.
Anyone, if you know there is such awards, please reply and I will do whatever needed to get this honour for our beloved Qatar police...
Anyone for it??!!!

What if there is someone who is hurrying to catch a plane (as this is very close to the Airport) or an ambulance trying to save someone's life got struck??!!

I agree that they are doing their job, but not like this. There are much better ways to do and I've been around the world to see how people do it.

tubelight...I know a country where they stop passing cars and shoot and take money..so your example of the other "islamic country" seems much better..isn't it..come on, look for better examples.

this is not too bad given the poor lane discipline in doha. i recall an event in an islamic country where policemen used to stop vehicles a few days before eid and blatantly ask for money (specifically known as eidee). :)

They are just doing their jobs and chose an area with heavy traffic, therefore plenty of likely offenders.

If they catch uninsured or illegal drivers then it's a good thing. I would be the first to complain if I was hit by an un-insured driver.
