ER services are a big joke!

Well, a week ago I broke my toe while playing football. it was friday night time. I hurried to the nearest private hospital: Al Emadi ER section. "sorry sir we cannot help u, its friday and doctors are off" ... i was like WTF! you're an emergency section. The general doctor came had a look and said that he cant do anything but to give me some pain pills and some ice bags! I went to doha clinic. same story but i have been informed that if i pay cash (not on insurance) they will call the orthopedic doctor and they did. he couldnt help because the Xray technician was off. I went to Hamad, the doctor was not there. they ask me to weight but i was mad. I went back home and in the next morning to went again to Al Emadi, took an appoitment, waited almost an hour to see the doc and suffering from pain because again the ER section asked me to go thru the normal procedure because no orthopedic ER doctor.

I am just surprised. 12 hours i was suffering from tough pain and i couldnt find an orthopedic dr. in any ER section! People over here do not care about medical services since ages because the locals are used to do all their operations overseas because they dont trust the doctors over here and now I understand the reason. Private hospitals are making a fortune monthly and they do not care to hire some doctors for the ER section to serve people 24 hours a day. At least back in my country you can find 4 major specialist doctors in any ER all night long.

"sorry sir, its a weekend. no one is available" ... nice words to be said for a injured person with a broken toe! hhhhhh

well thats what happenned! and for the people who mentioned al ahli, on friday in the ER there is no orthopedic or xray services. so its as simple as that like it was mentioned above: do not get injured on weeekends :P i share it because it is so funny but bad truth. a country like qatar, willing to go to a higher step must have the minimum of the worldwide known medical and other services! am feelin better now.

by the way i liked one of your conclusion! if ur weak, just die! hahah good idea

sorry to hear about ur experience..if u went to any hospital, any general practitioner doctor would order an xray, if they will find out that there's no broken bone, then there is no need to refer u to the orthopedic.

hahahaha. Broken toe. Harden up. Click it back into about the right position, put a sticky plaster on it, tape it to another toe...and life goes on. Maybe staff were busy with more pressing matters, like someone cut themselves shaving. Hospital for a sore toe. Well I never.

Pleople want to criticise unnecessary, they dont think what they have done themselves. See the post.... he went to Hamad Hospital, there are so many doctors at all the time but orthopeditian not available aound the clock, but oncall doctors will come, when it is required. But he can't wait ? since it is not an emergency case.

I took one of my fellow three months ago in hamad hospital in emergency as he got high fever we reached in emergency at 10 or 11 PM and the counter philip. guy said wait doctor not available.at 2'O clock he said doctor is on round as only one doctor is available and then i go to my car to take some rest as they take us out form the emergency waiting only for patients and i got sleep for a while at 4 i wake up and go to check him and didnot find him there after too much strugle and different openions of the emergency nurses male or females i go to the male ward in other building and search him in all the wards and suddenly i got him. a doctor was there i asked him about his helth he didnot answered and ask who are you?? i said i am his friend and i took him here he refused to tell me about him and said we wil tell him not to you...W.T F.........

then i said i have to take him back to home cant leave him here like that then he said he got typhoid so we will keep him here for 2 days minimum,

Even for employment medical Qatar have only one hospital,

You are living in the so-called 'richest' country in the world, and you can't find medical treatment when you need it? That's impossible, you are a liar!
