Questioning Faith
My grandmother, who lived in Tucson, was well-known for her faith and lack of reticence in talking about it. She would go out on the front porch and say, "Praise God!"
Her next door neighbor would shout back, "There ain't no God!"
During those days, my grandmother was very poor, so the neighbor decided to prove his point by buying a large bag of groceries and placing it at her door.
The next morning, Grandmother went to the porch and, seeing the groceries, said, "Praise God!"
The neighbor stepped out from behind a tree and said, "I brought those groceries, and there ain't no God."
Grandmother replied, "God, you not only sent me food but you made the devil pay for it."
Can a flower stop its sweet aroma spreading to nearby surroundings ?
Most of us like that !!!
The granny shouldn't be forcing her faith on anyone and by shouting out her love for her particular god she was doing just that. Maybe she should have just prayed in her house and stop annoying her neighbour.
As a teenager, I questioned my faith all the time. Religion and tradition was my worst enemy. Today I can say have reconciled my self with religion, well to a certian extent, but I'm still at war with tradition. Bad things happen to everyone at one time or another. The issue is having faith makes even death looks like a blessing...
faith moves the mountains.if one has disease he or she can drive away the disease by sheer will..with FAITH IN HIS WELL..Having Faith in HIM as HE only created from Drop of liquid and HE only Provide flesh, bones , heart, liver, kidney , eyes and nose etc...and delivered beautifully to the world.... "WELCOME to the world" and not only that HE created milk from mothers breast at one cry.Such a great GOD...Let us Have faith in HIM. He brought the rain from the skies and drop of water descends from the combination of 7 skies.'Oh Lord... You are the Provider of Food"... Different colors, Different shapes and Different tastes.,
"Oh Lord increase the Faith of Yours in Our Hearts".. We thank you for providing Food, shelter and Air in this universe..,..
It seems Grandma wanted to correct that fellow right from the bottom of his heart, so by listening that word that person should realize his status & try to improve if he does not want to listen it again, it is for that person's benefit but inside her heart she has a soft corner for him.
FUNNIES!
But if I was trying to prove to a person of God's existence, and preach to them religion, then I would never refer to them as the devil..too inflammatory and judgmental on granny's part!
Faith is a personal thing...just like the colour of the underware you want to wear. Some people don't wear at all, its their choice.
She was a really blessed person.
I bow my head to her !!!
She tried to guide others as well.
