My son studying in class 6 in DPS-MIS got a H1N1 shot last week. he did not develop any fever, but informed, he was not able to move his limbs after the shot (same thing observed with one of his friend). now, after some 5 days, he is having cough, no fever? any such occurences with any one?
i have seen many progarams about the vacinacion of H1N1 , and most of the Doctors are recommend to NOT taking the Vacination , and the explain that becouse for each new diseas the newly found vacination need at leas 3 year to proof it's apility to defend the body from the Virous , since the H1N1 vairous is new and the Vacination is new as well so they advice that to NOT take this vacination .
and from my side i will not accept to sign the letter which the School will give to my son or doughter regarding giving them or not the vacination .
so be aware of that and ask the specialist (not in qatar) world wide and figure out to take it or not
There is no H1N1 flu vaccine in Qatar yet, the one your son had is the seasonal flu vaccine. And yes it does cause some numbness in the arm around the injection site- I suffered from it but it's better now.
vaccination simplified means giving a "dead" version of virus to stimulate antibodies, sometimes gives a reaction similar to the real live thing, some people are sensitive to any injury even a needle prick. My daughters Doctor explained to me once that my daughters asthma was caused by her lungs being maybe 1000 times more sensitive than mine to certain substances. Don't worry too much about your son. A parent knows when their child is really ill and will act accordingly.
