I am new to Doha on a 2 year contract and will need to find a Doctor to supply me with an ongoing prescription for restricted medicine. I have own Doctors cover letter. Can anybody advise best place to go easily understand english? Bob1 ( aussie)
Bob1 try Al Ahli Hospital..they are run by NSW private healthcare and while it's still like any NSW public hospital they are probably your best bet, as most of the clinics here if it is an ongoing treatment will only refer you back to Hamad Hospital especially if the meds you need can only be filled through a hospital pharmacy. Also the American hospital is is OK as well.
Most medicines only available on prescription in the west (at least in the US) are available over-the-counter here at any chemist. A few products (i.e., some pain or sleep medications) may be unavialable or only at a hospital pharmacy. You can bring meds with you, except for a few restricted ones (e.g., opiates). English will not be a problem anywhere here, it's more widely spoken than Arabic.
