Someone told me that the usage of 'weds' is wrong when it is in the groom's invitation card... Suggestions from Native English Speakers will be appreciated ...
Regards

nice answer pam
In American English your invitation should read as follows:
You are invited to join
Mr. & Mrs. Larry James Williams
in witnessing the joining of
James Larry Williams (full name)
and
Anna Elizabeth Leary (full name)
in Holy Matrimony (depending on your religion)
05 December 2009
Eleven O'Clock
Saint Peter's Church
________Street
Doha, Qatar
Good Luck!
Pam
weds is OK, it's "Please join us with family" that I'm worried about!
You can have a better invitation etiquette than the one mentioned.
