The worst Valentines ever. Didn't get to date the love of my life a.k.a Lauren Conrad. Plus, had to go to the car wash 'cause my son was like "Dad, you need to get your car wash.. I realized we're in the desert but there must be water somewhere".. I want a cup of tea too, puh-lease?

Give love, and you give strength. Give love, and you give life meaning.

When you desire to truly make a difference, let your actions be guided by love. Remember that even when all else fails, love grows stronger.

When love surrenders, that is its greatest triumph. Could anything be more miraculous or powerful or enduring?

Give love, and align your world with the highest and best possibilities. Expect nothing of love and you will have everything.

Love can never be fully comprehended. And so, it is an endless source of delightful and joyous discovery.

Give love, again and again. For you can always know it even better and experience it even more.

-- Ralph Marston

sonya, it's not about special LOVE of one day... love is love.. it is about a HOLIDAY, like any other Holiday around a year...I din't say to prepare your heart for LOVE.. prepare you heart for CELEBRATION your love. No one limits you by only 1 day a year to express your feelings or to present gifts. Go and do it every single day.. But that's good to have a SPECIAL day for CELEBRATION...

Why do we need a Remembrance Day? Why wouldn't we remember wars victims every single day of the year? some of us probably does, 'speccaily those who lost their close ones... But there is a special day for remembering all these who are gone during the wars...nothing wrong with that...

What about Mother's Day? Father's Day? Do you love your parents only one day a year? or this day is just another chance to express your love and appreciation?

why do you celebrate your birthday? You were born at some point, and you're alive, and you enjoy being alive...so you can say I don't have to wait for my Birthday to celebrate it, i enjoy my life every day.. and it's great that you were born, that you are alive and that you enjoy your live every day.. but once a year you gather your friends and celebrate the fact of your presence in this world...

If we have true love no need to prepare our hearts and mind for love, and no need any special day for giving gift and all. On V.Day how many of them spend with their wife many of them spend with 'girl'freind , secretary, and going late at night to their wife without any gift.

I always had an aversion against prescribed happiness or gratefulness. And when I want to give something I don't want to wait for the "occasion". I hate Christmas, Eastern, Valentine's day, Santa Claus, Carnival, Birthdays, especially Wedding Anniversaries, and all the other "industrial" inventions.

By qatarisun• 13 Feb 2009 23:09

brit, nobody cancels everyday's feelings and expression of them...but you have to agree even the biggest excitement becomes routine if you feel the same every day.. so what is so special about it then? It’s like you have a casual clothes and you have special garment for the special cases. You don’t wear the special garment every day… or if you do, you still looking for something more outstanding for your special occasions, right? Same here. No one say that you have to show your careless and your neglect during the whole year and only once a year all of a sudden to become caring and loving partner. But it’s good that there are such special days to make them unforgettable… I think it’s a nice tradition… otherwise, why do we need any other special days, and the holidays in general?….

We have a unvalentines day each day..

By qatarisun• 13 Feb 2009 21:15

sure we need, why not? another reason for receiving/giving the gifts and making parties.. :)

that's why we need any holidays: To get beyond the routine… We know WHEN holiday is coming, and we prepare ourselves, our hearts, our minds for the celebration on the certain day.. we prepare the gifts for that days as well.. …We WAIT for the holiday, we PLAN for it... and this is a difference between “daily love” and expression of "special love on special day”…
