Qatar Living Members Gathering

I don’t know why we don’t gather to hang up with each others.
I have been here in Qatar almost 1.5 months and it’s a boring life style, no friends, no places I know to go , ...........etc. Also there is no friends groups such I have in Egypt, no groups to hang with to view the city and knowing the places and the sight seen of Doha or even at least eat with them.
So I have an idea to all of the members, lets arrange a gathering day to hang up all of us in one place , introduce each other’s and become a larger family. If it’s silly or have another ideas please update the forum, I suggest to go on the next Thursday 16th to Souq waqef.

Smoke organised the first open meet that I attended back in 2009. I was grateful for the opportunity to meet QLers back then, and following the meet I felt that I was more integrated with the site. Smoke is the king of organising such events, and fearless about who he may meet.

These days my diary is too full to attend such events, but back then my diary was empty. As are the diaries of many new to Qatar today.

Good on ya Smoke, and keep up the good work.

Azilana, Why don't you start using high heels, so that work won't be able to reach up to your neck ;)

Azzy I know that but these guys and many others are in the same situation that we were once upon a time, we didnt know anyone in Qatar, so we made it a point to make QL gatherings and went to meet new people. Most of my friends that i've made in Qatar are through QL.

People complain about open invites and are worried about who is gonna show up, yeah please everyone's not out to GET YOU, and dont tell me about what happens at those "closed invites" either...been there done that. So yeah its upto whoever wants to socialize.

in my opinion making friends is not a piece of cake, u have to search for real friends and select them carefully, not randomly post an open invitation to anyone to become your buddy.

Its just most of us outgrew QL and moved on...

Some of us are still here, coz we don't do out(no social life) anymore for one reason or the other.

:)
