Tenants rights in Qatar

I would be very interested to hear of anyone else experiencing difficulty in getting their apartment rental bond back from their real estate agent after vacating premises. I have been given a ridiculously large 'maintenance' bill, including painting and curtains for a near new unit. I gather this is a common rort in Qatar and that there is no organisation for tenant rights here to assist. Thanks, Lisa.

Sadly, it is not too easy to get help here .. However, you could go to the Consumer Protection Department – see link

or go to the Rental Dispute people, which is located next to Rawdat Al Khail Park, in Muntazah, off C Ring road.
