There is nothing wrong with buying a German car. I would suggest that if you're on a tight budget , then you should not risk it. Cars are mechanical and anything can go wrong - no matter what the age and repairs / parts tend to cost more than Japanese or American cars.
if your mechanic friend thinks that it is still in good condition and you can afford the maintenance then go for it. but if you will ask me, i prefer japanese or korean made car than american or european.
I'll bring a mechanic friend of mine to check the car as well, I am aware about BMW's being expensive to maintain so instead of going to the dealer, I will service the car @Bosche, I heard they are legitimately good and offer fair prices as well. Thanks for your response

It all depends on the condition. Has it been regularly serviced at the dealer.
Used BMWs are cheap to buy but can be expensive to run
