Who's 'reporting' all these posts!?

All factual regarding the family status.

regarding accommodation check with your Co. whether it is family accommodation or just bachelor. If it is bachelor you can't accommodate your family in that. If you providing only bachelor accommodation better to ask them housing allowance (3000+) instead of free accommodation.

Your HR KNOWS the rules. Make it clear to them that you DON'T come without your family.

Britexpat.. is right. So it is simple, ask your company to make your salary minimum 10,000 per month + family accommodation this will eligible you to apply for family permanent visa. With visit visa your family can stay for maximum 6 months. To bring her again you need to apply again for visa and tickets also it is difficult to get admission for school, etc....

Umair: The facts are as has been told you by Britexpat and myself. Brit has also provided you with a link. Wunae is very right in her statement. I agree with her that your company knows the rules and it appears they are not willing to allow your family come here on permanent visa. However, I suggest you accept the offer and bring you family here every six months on visit visa. The salary you are being offered will give you much savings. Check with your company if your family would be allowed to live with you in the accommodation being provided by them. Do get this clarified as accommodation is very costly in Doha.

Hello Umairnajib, great that you got a job offer, I am sure its better than what you are currently on to consider this seriously. But, if you plan to bring your family here, you need to consider few things. Firstly family visa, you need minimum QAR 10K to apply, also its now getting hard to apply for one, as the govn't tries to minimize economy impact on their resources by making it difficult for qualifying expats to bring their family. (its not official, but it exists). Also things are getting expensive here in Qatar for small basic things. Also, your employor can change the terms of your employement any time, meaning the employer can turn around later and say no more housing (as it is getting expensive), and give you a small housing allowance (this is legal here). If you are looking for short-term stay, it might be a good chance, for long term think carefully about it.

BTW: "Prize" and "Humbles" is MM...you can see the patterns in their comments; as it is almost similar responses... I am certain of it!

Why not talk to HR and request clarification that they will help you in securing a family visa and that the salary / benefits are enough in securing the application

this is really confusing..i wonder why they are claiming that I can bring my family later...the profession on my visa is computer engineer

10,000 is the minimum unfortunately so you won't get the visa. Sounds like your company knows this and have intentionally given you less than 10,000 to prevent you from bringing your family. Very bad of them. Without minimum 10,000 your visa will be rejected.

lol okay...now they hav offered me 9400K and accommodation provide , but they are saying it is a family visa and you can bring your visa...so I dont dont how this will work... actually I have spent 2 years in KSA so I know such complications and stuff

Umair: When you get here and join the group, you will get to know many people who usually love to write for the sake of writing with most of the post having no head or tail. A minimum salary of 10k is required as per the rules set forth by the government for you to be eligible for a family visa. If someone has said "that 600 is negligible," he does not know what he talking about.

Prize: It would be better you know what you are talking about when you are guiding a new comer. Britexpat was right in his comment.

Umairnajib: You need a minimum of QR 10,000 as a salary base to be considered for a permanent visa. The authorities will need from you a six-months bank statement showing the above amount having been deposited by your company in the bank. It may be possible for you get your wife here shortly after you arrive on a visit visa. This cane be possible after you have received your Qatar ID. A visit visa is initially for a month period extendable to six months maximum. You may be able to get hold of a second-hand car in good running condition within 30K but this all depends on the model of the car and also the brand. Toyota and Nissan are preferred over other cars as they have a good resale value. Try buying one from a direct user and you will find several of them at Qatar Living. Try also to take the help of some colleague or friends here who has knowledge about cars when going for one. Also, the later the model the better as insurance companies here do not usually provide comprehensive insurance to cars over 5 years old. Domestic expenses will be around QR 2000. Add another QR 1000 for miscellaneous expenses Trust this helps. .

Umair, For family visa that 600 is negligible ........ you will get the visa 100% sure. You are able to support your dependents with all the earnings, so ask your family to prepare themselves for travelling & enjoying the hospitality of the town's decent residents ...............

Umair, We welcome you here, it's very lovely place. Ya, you may buy a nice 2nd hand Camry with 40+ may be three / four old model, for a simple family max 2000 is enough for a month for all expenses. .........

umairnajib: I have tried to help you..

you CANNOT apply for family visa unless you earn 10k minimum... Now if your company is willing to show that your total salary including housing is above 10k , then you will be ok..

As far as cost of living is concerned - it is all subjective..

With housing provided, you will probably spend around 5k on monthly expenses (including car)

By Deleerious• 6 Apr 2016 10:30
Deleerious

Not just the 10k salary you'll need a degree - attested, birth certificate - attested, marriage certificate - attested. Housing agreement - attested. All of these translated into Arabic.

Oh, you'll also need to be here 6 months to prove your income before you can sponsor your family.

Welcome to Qatar!
