HELP Please - Medical Test Concern to Work in Doha
Hello Everyone,
Can someone help me with this touchy subject please? I really can't find any information on the topic.
I've been offered a job in Doha but I am worried I will not pass the medical exam. Does anyone know if HSV1 (herpes) is tested for and if positive can you still work in Doha? The only things mentioned that are tested are HIV, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis B & C.
It is embarassing for me but I have had HSV1 as a toddler =(. I would prefer to avoid the embarassment of going all the way to Doha to only be rejected at the end.
Thank you,
Anne
tomop 123: It was the first time I ever got to hear of Herpes. I don't think it is prevalent in my country. If wikipedia has given some figures of the number of people carrying this virus, their basis of report may be from a particular part of the world.
Please go through the following link and you will see that the Herpes virus gets spread with the sharing of common utensils.

Are you sure about that? According to wikipedia:
67% of the world population under the age of 50 have HSV-1

HSV 1 or herpes is a contagious disease and surely the Qatari government would not like to have the disease spread here by a carrier of this virus entering Qatar.. As such, it advisable you don't accept the offer and come over and then be sent back when it gets discovered you are a carrier of the herpes virus.
