Al-Marri claims top prizes in Dressage Level 1 and 2 competitions at 11th round of Longines Hathab
Qatar's Ali Mohamed Al-Marri triumphed in the Dressage Level 1 and 2 competitions of the 11th and deciding round of the 4th Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab at the Longines Arena of Al Shaqab on Saturday.
In the Medium Championship (Level 1) Test 1F, Al-Marri astride Casal Des Forets, a 10-year-old chestnut gelding, posted a cumulative score of 65.833 to earn the QR5,600 cash prize. He repeated the same feat in the Prelim Championship (Level 2) on Navigator (Qatar Equestrian Federation's bay gelding) with a score of 73.365 to win the QR 3,750 cash prize.
The Longines Hathab is supported by the Social Sport and Contribution Fund (Daam), and the competition is aimed at developing the next generation of equestrian athletes in Qatar.
Maryam Ahmed al-Semaitt, who rode her trusted mount Rhythm (QEF's dark bay gelding) and scored 62.564 points, emerged second in Level 1 ahead of Maryam Ahmad al-Bonin, who finished third with 62.372 astride Silvan.
Asmaa Yasser Mohamed on Leslie Ann (QEF's bay gelding) garnered 69.904pts for the second spot in Level 2, while Jassim Mohamed Al Fahd al-Kuwari on Guinness was third with 69.135.
In the future riders show jumping competition, which came later in the day, Mohammed Yousef Al Jaber astride Godette clocked 27.44secs and 29.11secs to win the two rounds of Table A maximum height of 90cm. Jassim Adel Al-Saegh riding Joly's Arno topped the maximum height of 80cm category with 29.75secs and 19.45secs, respectively.
The two events were for riders Under-14 riders and beginners competed.
Saif Mohammed Al Naimi on Sydney came second in Table A (90cm), followed by Fahad Abdulkarim Abed on Fantastique.
