Authorities shut down a company for selling fake fire extinguishers
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) shut down a company in Salwa Road and its warehouse in Al Sailiya for one month over the display and sale of 5,005 counterfeit fire extinguishers bearing international trademark, reported Gulf Times.
Of this, 2,749 fire extinguishers were found at the company’s headquarters while 2,256 were stoked at its store, according to The Peninsula.
It was only recently that the ministry clamped down on fraudulent tyres as well as private workshops that did not follow the rules while passing on benefits to customers.
The administrative closure decision was published on the ministry’s website.
The campaign is being carried out within the framework of the MEC’s efforts to monitor markets and economic activity across the country in a bid to crack down on price manipulation, violations, counterfeit goods and substandard products.

Simply a Great Job on the part of the authorities! These sellers have no morals as they were playing with the lives of innocent people.
