Car toppled over at West Bay Doha, no injuries
A hasty driver was the reason for a car flipping early Monday afternoon on the often busy Majlis Al Taawon Street.
The accident occurred around 1.30 p.m. near Tornado Tower and an ambulance and a traffic department official was on scene immediately.
Witnesses say the driver of the flipped Mitsubishi Lancer was able to walk away without sustaining any physical injuries. However, he did seem to be traumatised by the crash.
Although the safety airbags did not deploy following the crash, the driver was able escape uninjured as he was buckled up. Seat belts can save lives!
According to witnesses, a Chevrolet Caprice hit the other vehicle at an angle while exiting into the main street that caused the Lancer to topple over.
The police has established that the driver of the Caprice is at fault for not giving way to the vehicle on the main street and entering hastily.
Traffic flow was largely affected on both sides of the street due to motorists slowing down to snap photos or take a look at the accident, one of the major reasons for increasing accidents in Qatar.
Drivers of both cars received first aid immediately. While the Caprice sustained minimal damages in the front, the Lancer will either have to undergo major works to make it street legal or be considered totaled depending on its insurance.
