Cold spell to hit Qatar starting tomorrow
The country is expected to witness unstable weather beginning tomorrow with a sudden rise in the mercury levels.
But a sudden cold spell from Tuesday could see the mercury taking a sharp dip.
The weather is likely to be hot tomorrow and on Monday, with temperatures ranging between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius on average.
According to the Meteorology Department, from Tuesday the weather could change again with a cold spell, rupturing the hotter weather.
The mercury, after Tuesday, could suddenly drop to as low as between eight and 11 degrees in some places at night.
Day temperatures from Tuesday are expected to vary between 16 and 19 degrees.
Tomorrow and on Monday, the weather would be generally warm with the wind direction being southeasterly, the department said in a forecast.
On Monday, particularly due to evaporation in the sea, the weather would be partly cloudy with chances of rain, occasionally accompanied by thunder and strong winds.
Then, on January 7, the weather could suddenly change with high pressure building over the north of the Arabian Peninsula and moving towards Qatar.
The Weather Bureau, in a statement yesterday, urged people to brace for the unstable weather over the coming days, especially for the cold spell that is expected from Tuesday.
The bureau, however, didn’t say how long the cold spell is expected to last.
